TeslaRemanufacturing team in Lathropis looking for an experienced Quality Leader. In this role, you will lead a world class quality team to support theservicemanufacturingand remanufacturingofHigh Voltage Battery Packs and Drive unitsto drive the mission to accelerate the world's transition towards sustainable energy. This is a dynamic position where you work with several engineering groups, supply chain, production,other Remanufacturing sites, and service teams to proactively develop products and processes to be built right firsttime andcontinuously improve them to meet customer expectations.The successful candidate for this position must be a problem-solver and demonstrated leader, have a strong quality & customer-focused mindset, and have the personal driveforcontinuous improvement.

What You'll Do
  • LeadQuality Engineering and Quality Operations teamto support production/Remanufacturinglines for site and build a network across factories to leverage good practices and continuous improvement
  • Establish/Maintainand meet clear quality metrics and objectives forLathrop, other Remanufacturing sites
  • Drive professional problem solving to root cause andstandardize quality improvement projects across all Remanufacturing sites to minimize Quality Escapes and Early life Failures
  • Master and nurture a data driven team with advanced statistical, analysis and visualization skills
  • Supporta 24x7global business with the needed sense of urgency to protect Tesla customers and business, while enabling work-life balance, commitment, and fun at work
  • Develop and motivate a high performing team of exceptional engineers,engineering technicians, Quality supervisors and Quality technicians
  • Create and maintain PFMEAs to determine potential risks in manufacturing process and drive resolution of high-risk issues into process controls
  • Establish and maintain Control Plans toassurecritical features are controlled and monitored through the assembly/production processes
  • Develop and implement Quality Key Points for visual inspection that meets product specificationsused byin process inspections and quality audits
  • Create schedule for regular audits and inspections to be performed by Quality Technicians across all product lines

What You'll Bring
  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Physics, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years as a Quality Engineer with priorexperience leading a team of engineers
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and implement changes
  • Experience conducting PFMEAs for production processes
  • Experience in ISO-9001, QS-9000, ISO/TS/IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP
  • Specific training and demonstrated success in applying quality problem solving methods, such as 6 Sigma, fishbone diagrams and/or 8D, and implementing successful countermeasures
  • Strong quantitative and data analysis skills, including process capability analysis, hypothesis testing, DoE, SPC, and similar utilizing tools likeSQL, R, Minitab (or similar)

    Expected Compensation
    $93,600 - $167,400/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
