Night Shift Material Handler III

JOB DESCRIPTION:


Under general supervision, the Material Handler IIIsafely ships, packages and cyclecountsmaterials for the warehouse. This position safely packages and moves raw materials, finished goods, scrap materials,equipmentand any other miscellaneous materials within the plant to supportManufacturingDepartment, Warehouse, Lab, Maintenance, and Inventory Accuracy.This role includes driving andmaintainingcompany box trucks while moving materials around campus.This position reports the status of all work to the Leader.



Responsibilities:



Specific responsibilities will include but are not limited to:





  • Packages all finished good productswithcorrect packaging materials, labels,anddetails, per customer specifications.






  • Follows schedule/instructions for materials to be moved, where to move,and how often.






  • Operates allpowered industrialvehicles(PIV's)and otherequipment toassistwithmaterial handling.






  • Secures proper lifting attachments toPIV'sto move materials properly and safely.






  • Organizes and stores materials in an efficientmannerincludingattaching identifying labels to materials.






  • Records all materials movementsinto Syteline/WMS using a barcode scanner.






  • Participates and supports Warehouse 6S and PPI initiatives and/or programs.






  • Participates 100% in year- endfull physical inventory count.






  • Loadsand Unloadstrucks.






  • Picks and packs shipments.






  • Performs pallet re-configurations.






  • Performs cycle counts involving packaging/office supplies.






  • Drives andmaintainscompany box trucks.






  • Movesmaterials from building to building around campus.






  • Other duties as assigned.






Qualifications:



RequiredEducation &Skillsets:





  • 1 year experience in material handling in a manufacturing environment






  • Knowledge of Maintenance Repair and Operation (MRO) process






  • Knowledge of warehouse shipping processes






  • Ability to read and interpret documents and follow instructions.






  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.






  • Ability to use a computer; (e.g.Word, Excel,Internetand manufacturing software).






  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers.






  • Ability to communicate effectively with workers andsupervisor.






  • Ability to deal with problems and non-standardized situations with multiple variables.






  • Valid driver's license anda good drivingrecord






  • Medical certifications for DOT purposes






  • Class B permit within30 daysof accepting joboffer






  • Class B license within90 daysof hire






  • Certified Scissor Lift Operator





Preferred Education & Skillsets:





  • High School Diploma or GED.






  • Class B Commercial license





Physical Demands:



While performing the duties of this job the employee must:





  • Be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.






  • Be able to push or pull heavy objects up to 250 pounds.






  • Be able to work12-hourshifts.






  • Perform repetitive tasks.






  • Routinely stand, sit, hear, walk, and talk.






  • Reach, climb, bend, kneel, crouch,twistand balance; sometimes in awkward or tight spaces.






  • Have good close vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.






  • MeetMativcertification requirements to operatePIV's.






PPE Requirements:



Employeesare required towear Personal Protective Equipment including:





  • Safety shoes (steel toe or composite toe)






  • Safety Glasses






  • Bump Caps






  • Protective Gloves; when performing certain tasks






  • Hearing Protection; whenrequired






  • Other personal protective equipment asrequiredfor certain tasks





Work Environment:Conditions are that of a manufacturing environment.




  • Air Temperatures can range from cold to hot






  • Atmosphere maycontaindust,fumesand odors






  • May include mechanical, electrical, chemical, explosive and radiation hazards
