University Center on Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD) of the UMKC Institute for Human Development (IHD), at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC).

Job Description

The UMKC Institute for Human Development (IHD), University Center on Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD) is an applied research and training center for human services designed to exemplify the University's goals of engaged scholarship and community partnerships. Its functions include interdisciplinary training, applied research, community program development, and information dissemination. IHD is seeking qualified applicants to serve our individual centers with financial and general business support. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the processing of grants/contracts from the proposal stage to the closing
  • Work on detailed budget development/planning & justifications with the Principal Investigator / Manager of the Center
  • Work on sub-award and Consulting development, monitoring, and invoicing.
  • Work with the Manager and Office of Research Services on project invoicing
  • Monitor and reconcile project budgets through the life of the grant/contract (revenue/expenditures)
  • Work on reconciling and closeout processes of awards/projects.
  • Review proposals and budgets for the Center
  • Create PeopleSoft for Center projects and submit for approval
  • Work with the Office of Research Services on any grant/contract-related tasks
  • Create/fill out and update spendouts for/with Principal Investigator
  • Work with other departments on grant-related issues/items specific to Center projects
  • Process payroll entries, correcting entries, and transfers for your center accounts/projects
  • Other duties as assigned

This position is 100% grant/externally funded and contingent on continued funding.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated professional experience with grant/contract administration
  • Demonstrated professional experience with budget development, monitoring, and reconciliation
  • Demonstrated professional experience with accounting/financial management
  • Proficiency with Excel and financial-system
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and communication
Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $22.00 to $30.00 per hour.

Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
