Summary:


General Labor employees may work in a variety of roles performing tasks such as, but not limited to packing, bagging, stacking, dumping, traying off, inspecting and cleaning. All employees are responsible for maintaining our highest quality of food safety standards, sanitation standards, perform daily audits, and complete daily production paperwork.


Candidates are required to be flexible to work any shift - 1st / 2nd / 3rd (8-, 10- or 12-hour shifts), weekends and overtime.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Perform various checks to include metal detector, date code and weight systems checks
  • Clean, inspect and lubricate equipment as part of our Autonomous Maintenance program
  • Observe safety procedures
  • Observe Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Observe good housekeeping practices
  • Complete food safety & quality checks and associated daily production paperwork
  • Operating afork lift may be required for some positions




Minimum Qualifications:



  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must possess a High School diploma/GED
  • Must be able to read, write, and comprehend English
  • Must be flexible to work any shift - 1st / 2nd / 3rd (8, 10 or 12 hour shifts)
  • Must be available to work weekends, holidays and overtime
  • Must be able to lift up to 35-50 lbs
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide fractions, decimals, and whole numbers.
  • Basic computer skills



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Manufacturing / Food manufacturingwith a minimum of 2 yearsexperience is preferred
  • Experience with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is preferred
  • Experience with Safe Quality Food (SQF) practices is preferred
  • Experience with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) is preferred
  • Experience with Autonomous Maintenance (AM) is preferred
  • Experience with Single-Minute Exchange of Die (SMED) / quick change-over process is preferred
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement methodology is preferred



Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:



  • Good hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to follow directions effectively
  • Ability to work independently within a team environment
  • Close attention to detail



Physical Demands:



  • Light to moderate physical effort required
  • Must be able to lift up to 35-50 lbs
  • Regularly required to work around operating equipment, stand, reach, stoop, crawl, bend, and climb ladders.
  • Repetitive use of hands, wrists, and forearms



Working Conditions:



  • Work will be performed within a manufacturing facility.
  • The use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required to include but not limited to safety toe shoes, ear plugs, safety glasses/goggles, bump caps, hair and beard nets, and gloves.
  • Wearing company issued uniforms is a requirement.
