Why AccentCare?

The Medical Records Clerk is responsible for processing and sending required physician and facility notifications while ensuring timely receipt and proper documentation. This role supports interdisciplinary coordination and ensures medical records processes meet all regulatory and agency standards.

Key Responsibilities:

* Processes and sends required notifications to physicians, including missed visit reports, end-of-episode summaries, and discharge summaries-and follows up confirming timely receipt and proper documentation.

* Processes and sends required notifications to facilities-including discharge and transfer summaries-and ensures timely receipt and record completion.

* Ensures records are accurately maintained, well-organized, and readily accessible to support agency operations and compliance.

* Demonstrates excellent customer service and effective communication skills when interacting with internal staff, physicians, and external partners.

* Maintains strict confidentiality of all patient and organizational information in accordance with HIPAA and agency policies.

* Resubmits faxes that fail in transmission and follows up as needed to ensure documentation is received and compliance standards are met.

* Processes electronic workflow coordination notes and other administrative tasks within required time frames and quality standards.

* Assists with processing medical record requests in compliance with HIPAA regulations and agency protocols.

* Performs other related duties as assigned to support medical records and interdisciplinary coordination.

If you meet these qualifications, we want to meet you!

  • High School diploma
  • Minimum six months experience in a medical service setting, preferred
  • Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • General office procedure skills
  • Good computer skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
