Job Description: The Field Service Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership and direction to a team of 15-20 field technicians (Entry and Mid-level). This includes leading by example, setting goals and expectations, and providing real time coaching and mentoring on commercial, technical, and administrative responsibilities. This position reports to the service manager and will interact closely with him and dispatch. This role is 60% productive - 40% overhead. Key Responsibilities: * Applies time directly to customer jobs - analyze, troubleshoot, repair, rebuild, maintain, startup, adjust and replace mechanical equipment such as, but not limited to, bearings, motors, heat exchangers, compressors, boilers, ventilation and HVAC systems, CRAC units, humidity control units, exhaust fans/hoods, and building/energy management controls/control systems. * Provides technical support and employee development via real time mentoring, phone support, and field on-the-job training * Monitors the quality and efficiency of the work performed and document visits * Set goals and expectations for team members, provides weekly oversight of paperwork and reports, provide input for each team member for annual performance reviews as required * Conducts any required team meetings and ensures team compliance with safety, administrative, and other non-field related tasks * Help manage individual and team performance * Provide on the job technical training classes monthly for individuals or group classes based on need * Assist training managers, service manager, and senior technicians in supporting mentoring and training programs * Support sales team with spend plans and jobsite visits * Help perform safety observations of jobsites * Additional tasks and assignments provided by Service Manager when need arise Measures of Success: * Quality - minimize or eliminate "team" call backs / maximize customer satisfaction * Efficiency - team delivers on or below budget while delivering high-quality work * Employee retention and advancement of team members to higher technical levels/capabilities * Help deliver on time compliance with performance reviews and development plans * Retention of and increased business growth in project, maintenance, and repair business areas Requirements Specialized Knowledge Requirements: * Leadership skills and competencies with priority focus on interpersonal style, communication, and ability to earn team respect and support * Performance management skills including daily coaching and mentoring as well as annual performance reviews * Must coordinate and manage performance situations with service manager and HR if required. * Targeted job-related experience and/or HVAC educational background (vocational, community college, trade certificate, etc.) * Seven to ten years of direct hands-on mechanical systems project and/or maintenance experience * Must be familiar with chillers, boilers, furnaces, HVAC, cooling towers, controls, and CRAC unit systems/technologies * Working knowledge of BMS control systems and familiar with VAV systems * Must be good at multi-tasking and working collaboratively with service management, dispatch, field resources and other internal functional groups * Must possess excellent interpersonal and communications skills. * Must be able to effectively relate to customers as well as be a good coach and trainer of field personnel * Must be willing to take calls after hours sometimes in support of customers and field personnel Certification Requirements: * Must possess Universal CFC certification General Requirements: * Must be functional on computer and/or smart devices * Must appreciate and promote the value of quality paperwork that provides customers with accurate and sufficient information to validate the value of the scope of work performed. * Must possess basic leadership competencies and willingness to collaborate and work cross functionally to maximize team and business results and positive customer experiences. * Role will be providing support to 8-10 field technicians. * Valid NC driver's license Physical Requirements: * Lifting (up to 50 lbs.) with proper PPE * Bending, climbing, pulling, pushing, balancing, kneeling, twisting, standing * Perform service and repair functions off ladders and overhead * Carry and setup ladders up to 28 ft. in height (step or extension) as required * Climbing stairs, ladders, catwalks, etc. *Piedmont Service Group is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
