OSP Construction Coordinator

A Day in the Life of the OSP Construction Coordinator:
  • Coordinate OSP fiber, coax, conduit, and associated facility relocation projects from initiation through closeout.

  • Manage project schedules, budgets, contractor performance, and construction activities.

  • Coordinate with utility companies, municipalities, TxDOT personnel, engineering firms, and internal departments regarding relocation requirements and timelines.

  • Review engineering designs, construction drawings, traffic control plans, and permit packages for completeness and constructability.

  • Facilitate utility conflict resolution and coordinate relocation sequencing with third-party stakeholders.

  • Monitor contractor work for compliance with company standards, safety requirements, and approved designs.

  • Conduct field inspections and verify construction quality, restoration requirements, and project progress.

  • Manage permit applications, utility agreements, and regulatory documentation required for relocation projects.

  • Track project expenditures and support reimbursement documentation where applicable.

  • Ensure proper collection and retention of construction records, redlines, as-builts, test results, and project closeout documentation

  • Maintain accurate project records within company document management systems.

  • Provide project status updates, risk assessments, and escalation recommendations to management.

  • Participate in emergency maintenance and relocation activities as required.

  • Other Duties as Assigned

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Experience in telecommunications Outside Plant (OSP) construction, maintenance, or utility relocation projects.

  • Knowledge of aerial and underground fiber network construction practices.

  • Understanding of permitting processes, utility coordination, and roadway construction environments.

  • Ability to interpret engineering plans, utility maps, and construction drawings.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and project tracking systems.

  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with TxDOT relocation projects and utility accommodation requirements.

  • Knowledge of traffic control requirements and municipal permitting processes.

  • Experience managing contractors and construction vendors.

  • Familiarity with reimbursement packages, as-built documentation, and closeout processes.

  • Relocation projects are completed on schedule.

  • Budget adherence.

  • Permit approval cycle times.

  • Construction quality and rework rates.

  • Documentation accuracy and project closeout completion.

  • Customer and stakeholder satisfaction.

The base pay in Texas for this position is $65,000 to $85,000 annually, plus opportunities for bonus, benefits and commission, if applicable. The base pay range represents the low and high end of the hiring range for this job. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to relevant skills, experience, and capabilities. It is specific to Texas and may not be applicable to other locations.
