What to Expect
The Raw Materials team is looking for a Technical Program Manager to drive new program (NPI) execution for critical commodities-including aluminum, steel, and polymers. You will own scope, schedule, critical path, risks, and deliverables from kickoff through production readiness and launch, ensuring the right materials are qualified, sourceable, and ready for manufacturing ramp. Working hands-on with Design, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Sourcing, you will influence material selection for industrialization, run cross-functional cadence to decisions and closure, and recover programs when readiness is at risk-balancing cost, quality, supply continuity, and launch timing. Roughly 75-80% of the role is NPI program leadership; the balance feeds program learnings into raw material strategy (capacity, dual-source, qual/change control, and long-term commodity direction). The ideal candidate is an experienced program leader who thrives in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, communicates clearly across technical and commercial partners, and turns complex cross-functional work into on-time material readiness for launch.
What You'll Do
- Own NPI raw-material execution - scope, schedule, critical path, risks, and deliverables through production readiness and launch (multi-program)
- Drive material readiness with Design, MFG, and Supply Chain - hit build/launch gates, recover slips, and close resource gaps
- Influence material selection pre-design freeze for manufacturability, capacity, lead time, dual-source, and cost
- Run cross-functional cadence
- Feed NPI learnings into material strategy, supply/capacity risk, change control, and readiness metrics with Quality/Sourcing
What You'll Bring
- Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering (Materials, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Chemical), Business, Operations, or equivalent experience with evidence of exceptional abilities with strong program delivery
- 7+ years driving cross-functional programs in supply chain, manufacturing, NPI/launch, or raw materials, preferably metals or polymers (e.g. aluminum, steel, plastic resins)
- Proven NPI/program management: scope, schedule, critical path, risks/dependencies, and deliverables through production readiness and launch
- Working knowledge of raw material supply (sourcing, qualification, lead time, capacity, quality) and ability to influence material selection for industrialization with Design and Manufacturing
- Ability to balance cost, quality, supply continuity, and ramp readiness in program tradeoffs
- Strong stakeholder management, clear communication with Design, MFG, Supply Chain, Quality, and Sourcing; effective in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
- Comfort with program cadence and artifacts (RAID/actions, decision logs, escalations to closure) and executive-ready status and willingness to travel to supplier and production sites as needed
