Residential Counselors

Full-Time (40 hours): Day Shift: Monday thru Friday 8am-4pm

Full-Time (40 hours): Evening Shift: Monday thru Friday 4pm-12am

Full-Time (40 hours): Overnight Shift: Monday thru Friday 12am-8am (Sunday overnight thru Thursday overnight)*

*Role includes a $3.00 per hour shift differential for working overnights*

Pay Range $20.59 to $21.21 per hour

Position Summary

This Residential Counselor will work closely with families in a congregate emergency shelter site in Lowell providing life skills support to all families and family members who are staying at the shelter. This position also provides oversight of site operations, which include enforcing safety measures, program rules, and expectations using a trauma informed and client centered approach.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities



  • Assist in completing screening, intakes activities and orientation of new families
  • Under the direction of the Program Managers aids clients with keeping compliance with program expectations
  • Oversees security and safety by making routine interior and exterior checks during their shift
  • Maintain all necessary shift logs
  • Assists individuals with day to day life skills assistance as needed
  • Documents all critical incidents and safety issues using program communication system
  • Ensures basic cleanliness is upkept
  • Completes daily housing keeping duties, including changing of bed linens, cleaning up spills, and other immediate cleaning needs
  • Assists fellow co-workers and volunteers with coordination of events and workshops
  • Coordinates orientation of new clients as they enter the program
  • Maintain clean work areas including prep tables, storage spaces, refrigerators and stoves, and trash removal in accordance with sanitation and safety guidelines
  • Wash dishes, pots, and pans and run dish machine
  • Uphold the values of CTI - Equity, Integrity, Compassion

Qualifications



  • High School Diploma or equivalent education
  • Excellent customer service, organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent crisis management skills
  • Proficient computer skills in basic computer software and data collection
  • Good attention to detail


Preferred Qualifications



  • 1 year previous experience working with individuals in need of social services (preferably low income individuals)
  • Bilingual skills
