What You'll Do:



  • Develop, maintain, and communicate daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on customer orders, forecasts, and production capacity.
  • Review material requirements and coordinate with procurement to ensure raw materials and job-related equipment are available to support the production schedule.
  • Coordinate with the project engineers to manage job travelers through completion, ensuring required documentation, drawings, and materials are available before production begins.
  • Track production progress against schedule, identify delays or constraints, and recommend schedule adjustments to meet customer delivery commitments.
  • Analyze capacity, labor, equipment availability, lead times, and inventory levels to create realistic and efficient production plans.
  • Work cross-functionally with engineering, procurement, and the shop manager to identify planning, material, or capacity issues.
  • Maintain accurate planning data to coordinate routing information.
  • Prepare production status reports, schedule updates, inventory reports, and performance metrics.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to schedule adherence, material flow, lead-time reduction, and cost control.
  • Help identify risks to production schedules and develop contingency plans to minimize disruption to manufacturing operations.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment, complying with company and industry safety regulations.


What You'll Need:



  • Associate degree in supply chain, operations management, industrial engineering, manufacturing, business, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Experience in production planning, manufacturing scheduling, materials planning, inventory control, or a similar manufacturing operations role.
  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and production planning tools.
  • Ability to interpret customer demand, forecasts, bills of material, routings, work orders, inventory reports, and capacity data.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
