Job Summary The Technician, Chem-Ops supports product development projects for Sealed Air's Protective Care Business Unit. This role involves hands-on laboratory work with polyurethane systems and other experimental technologies. Job Description Support product development from concept to commercialization. Conduct polyurethane chemistry and reactivity testing. Perform physical property testing, including density and compressive strength. Conduct transmitted shock testing to evaluate cushioning performance. Evaluate machines and determine the best operating settings. Perform additional laboratory testing as needed. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Understand and apply chemistry, chemical reactions, and laboratory testing methods. Work with Sales, Account Representatives, and Package Design teams to support customer needs. Work with Systems Engineering, Supply Chain, and other product development teams. Travel up to 10% for field trials, customer and supplier visits, meetings, training, and conferences. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required. Candidates with a degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field are strongly preferred. 0-3 years of experience in a chemical laboratory or similar environment. Experience with polyurethane chemistry is preferred. Strong attention to detail. Good mechanical aptitude, math, and basic computer skills. Experience with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
