*Description:*
This role will be a mixture of functions within the Default Operations and Accounting teams. The main responsibilities for this individual will involve the ongoing goverance, enhancement of controls, visibility/oversight and QC of the Corporate Advance reconciliation team as well as assisting with standard accounts payable/receivable documentation and logging. This person will not be doing any accounting/AP/AR work but will be involved from a QC aspect of third party vendors who are conducting this work. The Accounting Analyst supports the Accounting Department in the ongoing governance, enhancement of controls, and visibility and oversight of Cenlar's client's servicing advance assets. In addition, the Accounting Analyst is responsible for the Homeowners Assistance Fund (HAF) payments, bank reconciliations & reporting. *Job Responsiblities: * * Conducting governance oversight/QC on corporate advance reconciliations completed by offshore partners. Checking what is out of standard, what needs resolved, fixing issues and helping to make certain decisions * Meeting regularly with business partners to discuss issues, changes and updates * Meeting regularly with offshore management partners around their work * Receiving and Sending 3d party checks for AP/AR work. This usually will not involve processing checks, but will involve opening mail frequently and logging checks in to the system. * Performs daily and monthly account reconciliations, including but not limited to subservicing clients advance accounts and HAF bank accounts. * Performs data collection and analysis to verify and reconcile bank balances to the loan accounting ledger * Analyzes and resolves all variances, compiles a list of necessary adjustments with backup, and monitors the necessary corrections * Researches and provides resolutions for errors which cause bank account to be out of balance * Assists the Accounting Supervisor by contacting the third party regarding missing records necessary to clear incoming deposits timely * Monitors third party recoverable advance balances clearing credits by preparing wires to the third party * Monitors and tracks receipt of receivables and incentives from government sponsored enterprises and government agencies * Assists in the creation and presentation of servicing advance populations * Conducts quantitative analysis of advances to identify opportunities for recovery * Provides ad-hoc reporting and analysis services as required to meet business needs * Maintains written operational procedures for all tasks performed and performs cross training to provide effective support to all team members * All other duties as assigned *Skills:* Quality assurance, Mortgage, Governance, reconciliations, reconciling accounts, Default, Mortgage Servicing, Loan Servicing, Accounts Payable, MSP, Corporate advance, check processing, office suite *Additional Skills & Qualifications:* * Bachelor's degree preferably in Accounting, or Finance is a plus * Excellent written and oral communication skills * Well organized and strong communication skills * High degree of accuracy and attention to detail * Ability to work independently and minimal direction and to meet deadlines *Job Type & Location*This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ewing, New Jersey. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $36.00/hr.
