Job Summary Responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of patients, staff, and visitors within the hospital's behavioral health settings. This role involves developing, implementing, and monitoring safety protocols and procedures specific to behavioral health environments, conducting risk assessments, and providing training and support to staff members. This role works closely with clinical teams, security personnel, and other departments to create a safe and therapeutic environment.Does this position require Patient Care? Yes Essential Functions -Develop, review, and update safety policies and procedures specific to behavioral health settings. -Ensure protocols comply with regulatory standards and best practices for patient and staff safety. -Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential safety hazards and implement mitigation strategies. -Monitor incidents and near-misses, analyze trends, and recommend corrective actions. -Provide safety training and education to staff on behavioral health safety practices, including crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques. -Respond to and manage behavioral health-related incidents and emergencies, including patient aggression or self-harm. -Provide support to patients and staff during and after safety incidents, ensuring emotional and psychological well-being.
