The Opportunity

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) is seeking a dynamic, student-centered, and service-oriented Integrated Student Services Counselor to provide exceptional support and guidance throughout the student lifecycle.

In this role, you will deliver friendly, professional, end-to-end service to students across multiple service channels, including in person, by phone, email, and online. The counselor serves as a trusted resource for students, providing guidance on academic progress, degree completion, financial aid, student accounts, registration, enrollment, and other complex student matters. Using sound professional judgment, you will help resolve issues, promote student success, and contribute to improved retention and graduation outcomes.

The Integrated Student Services Counselor develops expertise in student business services, including registration and enrollment, student records, financial aid, student accounts, and financial literacy. This role also maintains a strong working knowledge of related student support services, such as Veterans Student Services, Housing, Disability Support Services, Health Services, Counseling, Tutoring, Academic Advising, Student Employment, International Student Services, and Career Services, ensuring students are connected with the appropriate resources to support their success.

Success in this position requires excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, a commitment to outstanding customer service, and the ability to confidently navigate complex or sensitive situations involving students and their families. Counselors are expected to build meaningful relationships with students, communicate effectively with a diverse population, and provide thoughtful guidance from enrollment through graduation.

As a member of ERNIE Central, you will help fulfill the University's mission of providing seamless, integrated student services by ensuring students have effortless access to the information, guidance, and support they need to achieve their academic goals. This role also collaborates closely with departments and administrative partners across the University to deliver a consistent, student-focused experience that advances Embry-Riddle's commitment to student success.

Compensation

The annual salary range for this role is up to $43,888. The final offer will be based on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience, as well as applicable state regulations, internal equity, and business needs, and may fall outside of the stated range.

Required Education

  • Bachelor's degree required. Relevant professional experience may be substituted for a degree.

Required Licenses, Certifications, and/or Security Clearances

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Strong analytical skills with working knowledge of student information systems.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and other web-based applications.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with students, faculty, staff, and leadership.

  • Commitment to providing exceptional customer service to students and other internal and external stakeholders.

  • Ability to establish and maintain positive, collaborative working relationships with supervisors, colleagues, faculty, and staff.

  • Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.

  • Comfortable engaging proactively and frequently with students and stakeholders in person, by phone, email, text/chat, and through virtual meetings.

  • Ability to work independently, recognize priorities, take initiative, and assist team members as needed.

  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new processes, technologies, and systems.

  • Strong problem-solving, investigative, and critical-thinking skills with the ability to identify issues and implement appropriate solutions.

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, make informed decisions, and maintain confidentiality when appropriate.

  • Professional demeanor with the ability to tactfully handle challenging situations and remain composed under pressure.

  • Willingness to seek guidance and direction when appropriate to ensure successful performance.

  • One (1) to three (3) years of related professional experience.
