JOB TITLE
Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI)'s Regulation & Certification Department is currently seeking a Certification and Compliance Technician for our Emission Test Team at the Superior Township facility in Michigan, just east of Ann Arbor. HATCI's Certification & Compliance Team helps support Hyundai and Kia vehicles meeting the challenging environmental, and emissions standards at the federal, state, and local levels, through certification & in-use testing. Certification & Compliance Test technicians are responsible for conducting detailed inspections on in-use compliance and certification vehicles, completing minor vehicle prep work including part removal / replacement and fabrication, instrumenting vehicles, collecting vehicle data, and working closely with the Test Ops engineering team. Other responsibilities include tracking and completing audits for department vehicles, department fixed assets, and the calibration of team test equipment. Testing may include EV, PHEV, HEV and ICE for in-use compliance (IUVP) and certification (EDV, FEDV, EVAP, DDV). Other testing may include mileage accumulation, coast-down, special driving pattern arrangements, PEMS/RDE and other emissions-related items. Team members need to be knowledgeable in compliance & certification test practices, emission test practices, current & future regulatory requirements, CFR (Code of Federal Regulation) & CCR (Code of California Regulation).
