What to Expect

Tesla is expanding its LFP battery cell manufacturing operations and is searching for a highly motivated Associate Manager, Maintenance Planning & Scheduling to lead planning and scheduling for LFP.

You will build and lead a team of 7+ Maintenance Planners and Schedulers responsible for end-to-end work management across LFP: job plan quality, Ready-to-Schedule (RTS) backlog health, schedule compliance, shutdown readiness, parts kitting coordination, and CMMS (Flux) data integrity.

This individual will implement, maintain, and continuously improve a world-class maintenance planning and scheduling program in support of Tesla's mission to accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy.


What You'll Do
  • Report to the Maintenance Manager; act as the Maintenance Manager's primary owner for planning, scheduling, backlog governance, and planning KPI performance across supported LFP maintenance departments
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Maintenance Planners, Schedulers, and supporting roles; set clear expectations, own performance management, and build technical and professional capability aligned to LFP manufacturing demands
  • Tesla people leaders are responsible for Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) assurance, including ensuring team safety training is current, documenting EHS incidents, proactively correcting workplace hazards in planning/scheduling and kitting workspaces, and empowering others to continuously improve operations
  • Establish standard work for LFP planning and scheduling processes; drive accountability for plan quality, schedule attainment, and CMMS discipline across shifts, crafts, and LFP process areas
  • Partner daily with Maintenance Supervisors, Associate Managers of Maintenance, Production Supervisors/Planners, Process and Equipment Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Spares & Planning, Procurement, and EHS to align priorities and resolve competing constraints
  • Build cross-training and coverage models so planning and scheduling support remains stable across multi-shift LFP operations, ramp activities, and major shutdowns

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Operations, Business, or related field-or equivalent practical experience
  • 10+ years of experience in industrial/manufacturing maintenance, with at least 5+ years in maintenance planning, scheduling, work management
  • 2+ years leading people (direct or matrix)-coaching planners, schedulers, supervisors, leads, or technicians and driving team performance through metrics
  • Demonstrated proficiency with CMMS platforms (Flux preferred; SAP PM, Maximo, eMaint, or similar acceptable) for work order management, PM programs, backlog control, and scheduling
  • Strong understanding of maintenance best practices: preventive/predictive maintenance, backlog management, job plan standards, schedule compliance, TPM, and reliability-centered maintenance principles
  • Proven ability to plan and coordinate multi-craft work (electrical, mechanical, automation/controls, and related crafts) around production constraints in a 24/7 environment
  • Experience facilitating cross-functional schedule meetings and managing competing priorities between maintenance execution needs and manufacturing output targets
