Education Requirements High school diploma or GED required. Completion of a CNC Machining, Manufacturing Technology, or related technical training program preferred. Strong understanding of algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and manufacturing fundamentals. Experience Requirements 6 months to 4 years of experience operating CNC mills, CNC lathes, or other precision machining equipment in a manufacturing environment. Experience reading blueprints, engineering drawings, material specifications, and GD&T requirements. Basic knowledge of CNC programming, tool offsets, machine setup, and CAD/CAM software preferred. Physical Capabilities Ability to stand, walk, and work on a manufacturing floor for extended periods. Capable of lifting, loading, and handling raw materials, tooling, and machine components. Able to perform repetitive movements and safely operate machinery in a fast-paced production environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety. Job Duties Set up, program, and operate CNC mills and lathes for production machining. Configure tooling, fixtures, chucks, vises, collets, and machine accessories. Review work orders, blueprints, and engineering specifications to determine machining requirements. Load materials, establish machine offsets, and verify first-piece quality inspections. Perform drilling, turning, cutting, threading, grooving, facing, and other machining operations. Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools to ensure compliance with specifications and tolerances. Troubleshoot machining issues, adjust machine settings, maintain tooling, and perform preventive maintenance. Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, productivity, on-time delivery, and cost reduction while following all safety and quality standards.
