Temporary Research Assistant - Cerebrovascular Lab

The University of Iowa Department of Neurology is seeking a temporary, hourly Research Assistant (RA)to support the Cerebrovascular and Neurointerventional Surgery Lab. This position will primarily be responsible for assisting with the creation and management of systems and tasks related to data collection and data analysis.

Duties include:

• 
  

  Design and build pipelines to streamline recurring research tasks (e.g., data ingestion, form processing, etc.)

  
  
• Develop and validate algorithms/systems to maintain secure, version-controlled repository for research materials, per regulatory and IRBN protocol.
• Support statistical analysis by performing data extraction in collaboration with biostatistics team.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Neuroscience-related major (i.e., Biochemistry, Molecular Biology) or Computer Science major preferred.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and impeccable attention to detail
• Experience with programming (e.g., Python, SQL, R)

Desired Qualifications

• Previous experience with clinical or laboratory research
