PM Mechanic

Borden Hauling - a Waste Connections company - has an immediate opening for a PM Mechanic to join the team in Elkhart, IN.

Our PM Mechanic will perform routine preventative maintenance services on garbage trucks, and support senior technicians.

Pay Rate: $24.00/hr plus $4/hr shift diff. Approximately 10 or so hours of overtime weekly.

(Overtime is time and a half after 40 hrs)

Schedule: 3:30pm start time averaging approximately 10 hours per day.

Monday-Friday with occasional Saturdays.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Execute preventative maintenance inspections and services on diesel-powered vehicles and equipment: change engine oil, filters, inspect brakes, suspension components, lights, belts, tire pressure, and more.
• Perform repairs and inspections, safety checks, diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on diesel vehicles.
• Complete inspection reports and maintenance documentation accurately
• Identify and report potential mechanical issues to supervisors and diesel techs.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

What we need from you:

• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs
• Ability to work outside
• Proficiency in a variety of diesel vehicle diagnostic tools, preventative maintenance and repair
