IT Asset Manager Lead

Position Summary: The IT Asset Management (ITAM) Lead is responsible for quality oversight and technical accountability within the Hardware Asset Management (HAM) and Software Asset Management (SAM) program across the Agency. This position provides hands-on technical expertise and guidance, ensures technical standards and best practices are followed. Oversees documentation quality and completeness, coordinate activities across task areas and provides specialized contribution to Roadmap for future state.

• Oversee the full lifecycle management of hardware and software assets from procurement through disposal.
• Manage ServiceNow Hardware Asset Management (HAM) and Software Asset Management (SAM) processes and capabilities.
• Maintain asset management controls that support federal audit requirements and organizational compliance objectives.
• Manage hardware inventory including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, servers, networking equipment, and peripherals.
• Ensure proper receiving, tagging, tracking, deployment, transfer, maintenance, and disposal of IT assets.
• Monitor software licensing compliance
• Mentor junior ITAM analysts and provide technical guidance to asset management personnel
• Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of experience to be substituted for a degree
• Five years of active asset management lead responsibilities to include ServiceNow HAM PRO and SAM Pro.
• Experience leading ITAM teams or enterprise-wide asset management programs.

Language Ability:

• Read, analyze, and interpret business, professional, technical, or governmental documents. Write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Effectively present information and respond to questions.

Reasoning Ability:

• Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills:

• Advanced proficiency with ServiceNow IT Asset Management (ITAM), including Hardware Asset Management (HAM), Software Asset Management (SAM), HAM Pro, and SAM Pro modules.
• Working knowledge of cloud asset management concepts within Microsoft Azure.

Certificates and Licenses:

• ServiceNow HAM/SAM Implementation Specialist, IAITAM CHAMP/CSAM, ITILv4 [Certs in bold are most desirable, and holding more than 1 would be ideal].

Supervisory Responsibilities: Serves as a technical and functional lead for IT Asset Management activities.

Lifting and transporting IT equipment (e.g., laptops, desktops, monitors, network devices) up to 50 pounds. Installing, removing, or repositioning equipment in office, LAN closet, or server room environments.

Standing, walking, or moving between locations for extended periods.

Working in confined spaces such as network closets or server rooms.

Performing hands-on troubleshooting and device configuration activities

Vision requirements for this position include close vision.
