The Opportunity with McKinstry We are seeking a skilled People Analytics Sr. Data Analyst to advance people analytics, business intelligence, reporting, data stewardship, and workforce insights. This individual contributor role will equip the People Team and Executive leaders with trusted analytics and data-driven decision support across the organization. This role will strengthen the workforce data foundation by defining and maintaining data standards, KPI logic, governance practices, and quality expectations that ensure people data is accurate, consistent, secure, and ready for reporting, advanced analytics, and future AI-enabled insights. While familiarity with data engineering concepts, data integration, and related technologies is valuable, this role is not intended to own enterprise data engineering infrastructure, core platform administration, or system-level data pipeline management. The position will partner closely with IT, enterprise data teams, and system owners within established technology ownership and access models. The ideal candidate brings experience with Power BI, workforce analytics, data governance, with sensitive employee data, along with the ability to partner across HR, IT, Finance, and business teams to turn workforce and business data into actionable insights. Additional responsibilities include:
Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, semantic models, and analytics solutions that provide workforce and organizational insights to People Team and business leaders. Support integration, transformation, and validation of data from HR and enterprise systems including Workday, Jobvite, Docebo, Salesforce, and other enterprise applications. Serve as a data steward for workforce data by defining and maintaining data standards, business logic, KPI definitions, and governance practices across people analytics solutions. Partner with HR, IT, Finance, and business stakeholders to improve workforce data quality, consistency, documentation, and trusted use across systems and reporting platforms. Support the data foundation for AI-enabled analytics by ensuring people data is well-defined, governed, secure, and appropriately integrated with enterprise data sources. Monitor and resolve data quality issues, partnering with system owners and process teams to improve upstream data capture and downstream reporting reliability. Partner with IT, enterprise data teams, and system owners to support data integration, transformation, validation, and documentation for people analytics use cases, while operating within established enterprise technology ownership and access models. Partner with HR, Talent Acquisition, Learning, IT, Finance and business stakeholders to support reporting, analytics, and workforce insights initiatives. Help deliver analytics and data storytelling that support decision-making related to workforce trends, hiring, retention, engagement, organizational effectiveness, and talent development. Create and influence the development and maintenance of data dictionaries, KPI definitions, governance standards, and reporting documentation. Ensure data accuracy, consistency, privacy, and confidentiality across reporting and analytics solutions. Create and maintain Power BI workspaces, role-based security, and reporting performance optimization. Support self-service analytics and data literacy initiatives across HR and business teams. Contribute to enterprise analytics modernization and AI-enabled workforce analytics initiatives. Document technical processes, business logic, and reporting standards. This role will not own or administer core enterprise platforms or enterprise data engineering infrastructure; instead, it will partner with the teams responsible for those systems to ensure workforce data is accurate, well-defined, and analytics ready.
What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry: Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, HR Analytics, or related field or equivalent related experience. 5 years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, data engineering, or people analytics roles. Demonstrated experience developing Power BI dashboards, reports, and visualizations. Experience working with enterprise systems such as Workday, Jobvite, Docebo, Salesforce, or similar platforms. Experience serving as a data steward or supporting data governance practices, including data definitions, data quality, KPI governance, privacy, security, and responsible use of sensitive or confidential data. Strong SQL and data analysis skills. Familiarity with data integration, transformation, ETL/ELT concepts, or analytics engineering practices, with the ability to partner effectively with data engineering and IT teams. Familiarity with data modeling, reporting architecture, and analytics best practices. Experience with cloud analytics platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure, Snowflake, or similar technologies is preferred. Proficiency with DAX, Power Query, or similar data transformation tools. Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to manage sensitive employee data with discretion and attention to privacy and governance requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting People Analytics, HR Technology, or Workforce Analytics functions. Experience building executive or leadership reporting dashboards. Familiarity with APIs, Workday reporting, or HR data integrations. Exposure to AI-enabled analytics, workforce planning, or organizational effectiveness reporting. Familiarity with data engineering concepts, data integration, ETL/ELT processes, APIs, or cloud analytics platforms is preferred and helpful for partnering with technical teams. Experience working in Microsoft Fabric. Experience working in cross-functional or agile environments.

The pay range for this position is $80,100 - $134,400 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on market location. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
