About Cornerstone

Cornerstone Home Lending, a division of Cornerstone Capital Bank, is a national mortgage lender known for exceptional service, on-time closings, and an outstanding company culture. We are passionate about helping families achieve homeownership while honoring God by using our talents to make a positive difference in the lives of our Team Members, Clients, Shareholders, Communities, and the people who provide services to us.

We are seeking an experienced Loan Coordinator (Licensed Production Associate) to support a collaborative team of four established Loan Officers. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has the technical knowledge to confidently guide borrowers through the pre-qualification process while helping prepare complete, high-quality loan files for processing.

What You'll Do

The Loan Coordinator is a trusted partner to our Loan Officers, helping create an exceptional client experience from the first conversation through a successful handoff to our Processing Department.

Success in this role isn't measured simply by getting loans submitted-it's measured by anticipating needs, communicating clearly, and creating a smooth experience for both clients and teammates.

Pre-Qualification

  • Welcome new clients with professionalism, responsiveness, and exceptional customer service.
  • Review loan applications for completeness and accuracy.
  • Assist clients with completing mortgage applications and ensuring accurate borrower information.
  • Collect and organize upfront documentation, including income, asset, employment, and credit documentation.
  • Perform preliminary income calculations.
  • Analyze borrower income, assets, and documentation to identify potential issues before submission to processing.
  • Review borrower scenarios for guideline eligibility.
  • Run Automated Underwriting System (AUS) findings.
  • Maintain working knowledge of mortgage products, underwriting guidelines, and lending requirements.

Contract to Close

  • Prepare and issue initial loan disclosures.
  • Review fees for accuracy.
  • Prepare and submit complete, well-organized loan packages to the Processing Department.
  • Coordinate with processors, underwriters, escrow, title companies, insurance agents, and clients.
  • Participate in regular pipeline meetings.
  • Monitor loan milestones to help ensure on-time closings.

Client Experience

Our Loan Coordinators play a critical role in delivering the Cornerstone experience by:

  • Responding promptly to clients and referral partners.
  • Setting clear expectations throughout the loan process.
  • Creating confidence during what can often be a stressful transaction.
  • Helping ensure every client experiences an on-time closing.

What You'll Need to Be Successful

Success in this role relies on strong organization, communication, technical knowledge, and the ability to prioritize multiple loan files simultaneously.

  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • Highly organized with excellent time management.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple loan files in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience reviewing borrower income, assets, and loan documentation.
  • Working knowledge of mortgage guidelines and loan products.
  • Experience running Automated Underwriting Systems (DU/LPA preferred).
  • Strong computer and technology skills with the ability to quickly learn new systems.
  • Experience working within a mortgage loan origination system and CRM is preferred.
  • Mortgage Coach experience is a plus.
  • NMLS license preferred.

Who You'll Be Working With

You'll be joining a collaborative team of four established Loan Officers who genuinely enjoy working together and supporting one another. We value proactive communication, continuous improvement, and creating a smooth, stress-free experience for every client.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys mortgage operations and wants to continue growing their technical knowledge of loan products, underwriting guidelines, income analysis, and the mortgage process while working alongside experienced Loan Officers.

The Ideal Candidate

You're the kind of person who brings order to complexity. You're naturally organized, proactive, and detail-oriented, but you also understand that mortgage lending is a people business.

You enjoy solving problems before they become problems, communicate clearly and professionally, and take pride in creating a seamless experience for both clients and teammates. You don't wait to be asked-you anticipate what's needed, follow through on commitments, and genuinely enjoy helping others succeed.

If you're looking for a role where your technical skills, organization, and commitment to exceptional service truly make an impact, you'll thrive as part of our team.

What We Offer

Because we recognize and reward hard work, we offer a competitive salary, Medical, Dental, Vision, Accidental Death, Long-Term Disability, Short-Term Disability, FSA, HSA, 401(k), Basic Life, Voluntary Life, Paid Parental Leave, and the opportunity for a performance-based bonus based on position and department.
