Job Summary:
BLR is seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer (Remote) to help build, maintain and scaled the automated testing suites that ensure the quality and reliability of our portfolio of applications. In this role, you will own the automation strategy by designing robust, maintainable testing frameworks, expanding automated test coverage, and partnering closely with developers, product managers, and fellow QA engineers to embed quality throughout every stage of the software development life cycle.

This is a senior-level, hands-on engineering role with a strong emphasis on coding and test automation. You will work across a variety of web applications, lead the development and evolution of our Playwright-based automation framework, mentor team members on automation best practices, and drive continuous improvements to our testing and release processes.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end automated test suites and frameworks using Playwright
  • Build scalable, maintainable automation frameworks with reusable components that keep tests reliable as codebase grows
  • Perform functional, regression, smoke, end-to-end, integration, and automated testing
  • Develop and execute REST API tests using Postman or similar tools
  • Validate integrations across applications, APIs, services, and third-party systems
  • Improve test stability, execution speed, and automation reliability by reducing flaky tests
  • Translate requirements and user stories into automated test cases
  • Identify, document, and verify defects while maintaining regression test suites
  • Partner with developer, product managers, and QA to define test strategies and resolve issues
  • Mentor QA engineers in automation best practices and framework development
  • Communicate test progress, coverage, and quality risks to technical and business stakeholders

The Individual:
  • Strong, hands-on expertise with Playwright for UI automation
  • Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript
  • Strong experience with REST API testing and validating RESTful services
  • Proven experience designing and maintain scalable, reusable automation frameworks
  • Solid understanding of QA methodologies and the software testing lifecycle
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Strong debugging skills, including diagnosing flaky or timing-dependent UI test
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with Git and standard version-control and code-review products
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance/test automation
