Job Description

ALLOY/REVERT TECHNICIAN - SHIPPING & RECEIVING (2ND SHIFT)

Location: Painesville, OH | Shift: 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Alloy/Revert Technician to join our Shipping & Receiving team on 2nd shift. In this role, you will coordinate shipments, maintain inventory accuracy, support production requirements, and ensure customer orders are shipped accurately and on time.

Key Responsibilities

Shipping & Logistics

  • Schedule and coordinate customer shipments, including trucking arrangements and required documentation
  • Prepare shipping paperwork, certifications, Bills of Lading (BOLs), customs forms, and other shipping documents
  • Verify shipment accuracy, including weights, quantities, labels, and packaging requirements
  • Band, label, stage, and load outgoing shipments for carrier pickup
  • Monitor dock activity, truck traffic, and shipping schedules to support operational needs

Inventory & Material Management

  • Maintain accurate inventory records for shipping containers, supplies, and finished goods
  • Track and replenish dock supplies to support daily operations
  • Support material flow between production and shipping areas
  • Coordinate with Production Control and Sales teams to meet customer delivery commitments

Communication & Continuous Improvement

  • Proactively communicate shortages, discrepancies, and shipping concerns to Operations, Purchasing, and Customer Service
  • Provide clear shift-to-shift communication to ensure operational continuity
  • Support cost-reduction initiatives related to freight, trucking, and shipping activities
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and customer service

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with SOPs, Environmental Procedures (EPs), and established work instructions
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment
  • Safely operate forklifts and material-handling equipment
Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum 1 year of shipping and receiving experience
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking abilities
  • Basic computer and clerical skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Preferred

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Forklift certification (or ability to obtain certification through company-provided training)
  • Experience in manufacturing, logistics, metals, alloy, or industrial environments
  • Experience preparing shipping documentation and coordinating carriers
