Summary:

In this role, you will apply advanced accounting principles and technical guidance to support complex accounting activities, financial reporting, and compliance. You will analyze nonroutine transactions, evaluate the accounting impact of business initiatives, collaborate with cross-functional client groups, and provide technical accounting expertise to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with applicable accounting standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply complex accounting principles, regulations, and company policies to technical accounting matters and non-routine transactions.

  • Analyze and document accounting conclusions for complex business transactions, including customer agreements, mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, and other nonstandard activities.

  • Prepare complex accounting analyses, reconciliations, and financial reports to support accurate financial statements and compliance reporting.

  • Evaluate accounting impacts of new business initiatives and provide recommendations to internal client groups.

  • Identify business needs and develop ad hoc financial analyses to support informed business decisions.

  • Maintain ownership of diverse accounting activities while ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with accounting standards.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional client groups to communicate accounting positions, financial impacts, and technical guidance.

  • Review work products, provide guidance to team members, and support knowledge sharing and training initiatives.

  • Identify opportunities to strengthen accounting processes, internal controls, and operational efficiencies.

  • Support the implementation, interpretation, and maintenance of accounting policies and evolving accounting guidance.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree preferred. Master's degree in accounting, finance or business desired.

  • 5 or more years of relevant experience required.

  • Active CPA license in good standing or CPA licensing in progress required.

  • Experience researching, interpreting, and documenting accounting guidance for complex transactions required.

  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and experience applying technical accounting standards to complex business transactions; experience with ASC 606 preferred.

  • Experience preparing complex financial analyses, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

  • Big Four or large national/regional public accounting firm experience highly preferred.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel skills; experience with Workday ERP preferred.

  • Strong analytical, critical-thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional client groups and provide technical accounting guidance.

  • Annual AICPA and TSCPA membership fee reimbursement.

  • Reimbursement for CGMA designation.

Estimated Hiring Range:

At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $77,400.00 to $135,400.00.

This position is also incentive eligible.
