Custodial Services 2nd Shift
JOB DESCRIPTION: EMPLOYMENT TERMS: Full-time position; 2nd shift position working from 5: 00 p.m. to 1: 30 a.m. with a half-hour lunch break PRIMARY DUTY: The Custodian will perform various custodial duties to include but not limited to the cleaning of restrooms, lounges, offices, classrooms, and corridors in accordance with the standard operating procedures of the department. The Custodian must be flexible and show the ability to work as a part of a team with a willingness to accept guidance and directives from the Custodial Supervisor and/or the Director of Operations. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Clean, stock, and sanitize areas using established practices and procedures Use authorized cleaning supplies and equipment to keep the interior of the buildings looking clean and professional Adhere to the companys safety policies to create a safe work environment for everyone Secure and lock assigned areas Assist with event set-up and tear down Use and maintain assigned equipment for cleanliness and report all repairs needed Assist in cleaning of spills Change light bulbs throughout campus as needed Observe and report the need of repairs throughout campus Perform other duties as assigned CORE COMPETENCIES: Demonstrate personal integrity and trustworthiness Manage stressful situations and changing priorities effectively Anticipate, recognize and resolve problems Be responsible and accountable Use organizational skills and provide attention to details Maintain a positive, optimistic and success-oriented attitude Exercise professional demeanor, which includes being tactful and courteous Exhibit a professional work ethic Continuously promote a safe work environment REQUIREMENTS: Education: High school diploma Certification/License: Drivers license Skills: Basic communication skills; basic computer skills WORKING CONDITIONS: Custodial Services is divided into four shifts: 6: 00 a.m. 2: 30 p.m., 2: 00 p.m. 10: 30 p.m., 5: 00 p.m. 1: 30 a.m. and 10: 00 p.m. 6: 30 a.m. Each shift will include a thirty-minute lunch break. This position may work various hours depending on the needs of the department with occasional weekend coverage. This position may be exposed to cold and hot conditions throughout the shift. This position must demonstrate safety responsibility and the ability to wear all personal protective equipment (PPE). This position is considered essential staff. Essential staff provide services that relate directly to the health, safety, and welfare of the University, ensure continuity of key operations, and maintain and protect University properties. Should the University close for any reason, essential staff will report to work as usual. EQUIPMENT/MATERIALS USED: Custodial cleaning equipment, custodial chemicals, office machines, lifts, and motor vehicles. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires the ability to walk, stand, bend, and/or reach, as well as climb a ladder and clear snow and ice when needed; Must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and operate standard custodial equipment

Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift
DEPARTMENT: Building Trades JOB DESCRIPTION: PRIMARY DUTY: The Maintenance Technician 2nd Shift performs routine and semi-skilled work in the installation, operation, maintenance, modification, service and repair of mechanical, electrical, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, plumbing and structural systems, using hand and power tools and precision measuring and testing devices according to work orders or verbal instructions. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Perform general maintenance on buildings, including but not limited to: semi-skilled carpentry, electrical, painting, dry walling, plumbing, heating, limited air conditioning and mechanical repair work, door hardware, exit and emergency lighting. Repair electrical switches, outlets, and fixtures. Perform semi-skilled plumbing work including the repair and replacement of plumbing fixtures including sinks, toilets, and faucets; clear obstructions from water and sewer lines. Perform semi-skilled levels of carpentry work including the repair of walls, windows, siding, doors and other carpentry work. Perform a variety of preventative maintenance tasks including filter changes, lubricating, inspecting, and tightening as assigned. Maintain and repair a variety of floor coverings such as carpeting, tile, and linoleum. Perform the roof coverings such as composition, rolled, and shingle. Operate and maintain a variety of maintenance tools and equipment such as power saws, power sanders, drills, air compressors, paint sprayers, generators, pressure washers, and various hand tools required for carpentry, plumbing, and maintenance tasks. Contribute to the overall success of Facility Services by performing other essential duties and responsibilities as assigned. This position must be able to work in confined areas, tunnels, on roofs and on tall ladders or lifts (up to 60 feet). Conditions can be hot with high humidity, extremely cold and/or dry, loud and noisy. This position may be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed to support University events or emergencies. This position is considered essential staff. Essential staff provide services that relate directly to the health, safety, and welfare of the University, ensure continuity of key operations, and maintain and protect University properties. Should the University close for any reason, essential staff will report to work as usual. EQUIPMENT/MATERIALS USED: Vehicles, hand tools, portable drills, power saws, lifts, fork trucks, lock out/tag out process, etc. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The position must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and must have a full range of motions due to work environment and work conditions. This includes but is not limited to climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling and holding.
