Target hiring range for this position will be between $51,500- $70,000 per year. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. Job Summary: The Director of Operations for Lacrosse reports to the Head Women's Lacrosse Coach. The Director of Operations will assist in administration, analysis, alumni engagement and all aspects of management of the Lacrosse team. This is a full-time benefits eligible appointment that is renewable on a contract basis *Note: Not all aspects of the job are covered by this job description. *Willingness and ability to work a non-traditional schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays as required. Specific Responsibilities: Administration
- Manages day-to-day operations - Coordinate the day-to-day operations including logistics for team, recruiting and practice activities and travel.
- Ensures that program/project mission, values, guidelines, policies & procedures are implemented & maintained.
- Manages design and development of program databases; compiles & analyzes data; prepares reports.
- Reviews processes and recommends changes to incorporate state-of-the-art technology as appropriate into administrative, recruitment, marketing, and educational components.
- Assist the Head Lacrosse Coach in all in-season management and administration including, but no limited to:
- Film editing and tagging of film collected at practice, competition and scouting of opponents
- Team meals and travel in conjunction with practice and training
- Manage player equipment needs
- Assist in home game team management
- Communicate game day information with visiting teams
- Organize team meals in conjunction with games
- Video and tag home games
- Meet opposing teams at field and field set up
- Manage the player pass list
- Assist in away game team management
- Set and confirm practice times
- Organize meals
- Communicate all logistics and travel plans to players
- Assist assistant coaches with all travel plans, including flights, hotels, transportation and pass lists
- Identifies service improvement opportunities that will better enable program/project to achieve its goals and objectives.
- Tracks equipment purchases and assists in negotiating pricing.
- Ensures all recruiting activities are tracked and approved as required by the Athletics Compliance Office; Prepares documentation as required.
Communication, Outreach and Recruitment
- Develops coordinated, consistent marketing and brand messages.
- Incorporates social media and networking into program/project aspects as appropriate.
- Develops recruiting calendar, scheduling mailings and social media posts as appropriate.
- Creates and nurtures relationships with current and former players to develop a network of enthusiastic donors engaged via active participation in the success of program/project.
- Reviews market trends to recommend future plans to increase revenue, participation, engagement, etc.
- Develops plans and arranges meetings, workshops, events, etc. designed to exchange information, promote research objectives, and to build internal and external relationships within NU
Evaluation
- Coordinates the collection, analysis & reporting of required information for surveys, review documents, etc.
- Analyzes evaluation data from student athletes, etc. to assist in program/project development and updates.
- Implements corrective actions required as a result of surveys or other indicators.
Student Support
- Provides support and guidance as it relates to academic advising and player development.
- Implements strategy regarding structure, process, & staff support of students in compliance with NU policy.
Program Development
- Manages program/project curriculum, seminars, presentations, workshops, learning experiences, chat rooms, websites, social networking, etc. based on goals/objectives.
- Identifies & obtains external expertise as needed and works with content experts for current and new programs.
- Reviews programs/projects to increase efficiencies to support growth.
- Manages speaker selection, communication, and topic development.
Other
- Responsible for adhering to all Department and University policies and procedures, as well as the rules, regulations, bylaws and interpretations of the Big Ten Conference, CSC and the NCAA
- Responsible for adhering to all Department and University continuing education initiatives and required certifications and trainings.
Miscellaneous Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications:
Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree; OR appropriate combination of education and experience + 1 year program administration or similar experience; or 3 years program administration or similar experience. Professional verbal and written communication skills Ability to work in a dynamic fast paced environment and manage stressful situations Ability to handle multiple tasks at once and meet deadlines Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to work cooperatively with others and effectively interact and establish engaging relationships with a wide variety of constituents.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with and understanding of college lacrosse preferred
- Knowledge of rules and regulations of the NCAA, CSC, Big Ten Conference and Northwestern University preferred
