Production Worker - 2nd Shift

The Production Worker performs a variety of manufacturing and production activities in support of defense products and operations. Responsibilities may include mechanical assembly, inspection, rework, material handling, equipment operation, and other production-related tasks in accordance with engineering specifications, work instructions, quality standards, and safety requirements. This position supports production goals through quality workmanship, flexibility across work areas, and continuous improvement initiatives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Read, understand, and interpret work instructions (written and verbal) to complete manufacturing and production tasks according to established guidelines, procedures, and quality standards.
- Read, learn, understand, and comply with all safety requirements and processes and procedures.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools following approved methods and procedures to complete assembly and production activities.
- Report issues related to quality, processes, equipment, and materials to Supervisor.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area to support manufacturing operations.
- Apply problem-solving and troubleshooting techniques while working collaboratively to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform quality checks throughout the production process to ensure products meet established standards.
- Identify product defects and complete required documentation when defects are found.
- Rework and/or repair products in accordance with engineering specification changes.
- Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to cross-train in other departments and perform additional production-related duties as business needs require.
- Actively participate in lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying opportunities and providing recommendations for process improvements.
- Observe all safety requirements and maintain a Foreign Object Damage (FOD) free work environment.
- Ensure equipment is calibrated and used in accordance with established calibration schedules.
Physical Demands and Abilities
- Regularly perform repetitive tasks.
- Demonstrate manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to assemble parts accurately and efficiently.
- Frequently sit, stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, and crouch for up to 10 hours per shift.
- Regularly lift and move materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Possess visual capabilities including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and color perception.
Qualification Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Basic reading comprehension skills with the ability to follow written and verbal instructions and complete required documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and self-motivation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and online communication systems.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Must meet all applicable eligibility requirements in accordance with **Navajo Nation Employment Laws and established hiring criteria.
Additional Requirements
- Applicants must successfully complete required screenings and background checks for placement.
- Ability to commit to assigned shift schedules (day, night and weekends)
- Ability to work overtime, holidays, weekends, and maintain reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Must have and maintain an active email address.
