Strategy, Planning & Business Development Consultant

Endeavor Health's Strategy, Planning & Business Development function is accountable for developing, monitoring, and supporting the execution of its system-wide strategy, including planning and focused execution of initiatives driving the development of an expansive physician and ambulatory network, market leading service lines, digital transformation and overall growth and competitive positioning. This function is an essential driver of organizational growth through partnerships opportunities, business development and agile strategy execution.

Under the direction of the Endeavor Health System Director, Strategy, Planning and Business Development, and through collaborative relationships and established connections with VP, Strategy and Planning, Medical Group Senior Leadership, System Chief Growth Officer, System and Hospital Presidents, Senior Vice Presidents, and senior leadership from Finance and Information Technology, the Strategy, Planning & Business Development Consultant is accountable for supporting a wide variety of initiatives that involve analyzing/assessing, developing and supporting execution of high impact strategic initiatives to drive growth, performance improvement and alignment across the entire Endeavor Health enterprise. This position plays an integral role for the system in supporting strategic planning, service line planning and business development projects. The position is responsible for strategic data analytics that will inform growth, service line, operational, and corporate strategy. This includes gathering, analyzing and reporting on various types of data and communicating results of analysis to support business plans and decision making. This role requires the ability to think critically across various sectors of healthcare, scope projects and manage multiple work streams throughout the project life cycle, and proficiency in utilization of various reporting tools and data sources to develop the highest quality deliverables. This role requires the ability have strong collaboration and influence skills, requires routine and regular meetings with key system level leadership across Acute, Ambulatory, and Medical Group space, and ability to present findings, make recommendations and challenge the status quo in individual and group settings.

  • Full Time/Part Time: Full Time (40 Hours)

  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm

  • Required Travel: travel to other Endeavor Health locations (Warrenville) will be required

What you will do:

  • In partnership with executive and senior leadership, supports development of Endeavor Health strategic initiatives and provides recommendations to drive decision-making through analysis of business performance, market trends and creation of business plans.

  • Responsible for managing a subset of high-value strategic projects that support the goals and objectives of Endeavor Health

  • Under the direction of System Director, Strategy, Planning and Business Development, and in partnership with VP, Strategy and Planning, Chief Growth Officer, Institute and Clinical Service Line Leadership, and President of Medical Group Operations, assist in the development of corporate strategy, strategic partnerships, and business development opportunities.

  • Responsible for understanding and communicating to leaders across all levels of the organization, consumer/patient behavior, leveraging insights, and partnering across operational and functional departments to inform and influence. Manage development of hypothesis-driven patient and category growth strategies through the use of data, analytics, industry findings, and cross functional partnership.

  • Analyze and forecast how industry, market, and economic trends (employment, insurance coverage, etc.) and changes in care delivery and technology will impact site of care and utilization of health services (i.e., shift to outpatient or ASC setting, virtual/telehealth solutions.).

  • Serve as in-house expert on external data sources (SG2, Advisory Board, Truven Analytics, IHA COMPdata, etc.)

  • Create standard and routine analysis/reporting as needed.

What you will need:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Marketing, Business and/or Other Healthcare related degree, required. Master's degree, preferred

  • Certification: n/a

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in strategy, planning, business development, data analytics, consumer/patient experience and insights, and/or finance in health care or equivalent work experience required.

  • Unique or Preferred Skills:

    • Understanding of the healthcare industry

    • Knowledge of cost accounting and health care finance concepts strongly preferred

    • Strong quantitative analysis, financial modeling and forecasting, strategic planning and business plan development skills

    • Analytical, critical, creative and problem-solving attitude, approach and skills are essential

    • Ability to analyze and synthesize large amount of data into salient points, draw conclusions and present recommendations

    • Must be proactive, intellectually curious, inquisitive, and creatively resourceful with the ability to explore, question and challenge business and operational norms

    • Communication skills, direct and written, are very important to the successful completion of these responsibilities.

    • Ability to translate data into insights and action, clearly and concisely articulate to peers and leaders across the org, and continue to advance work, project, and initiatives to meet formal and informal deadlines.

    • Works effectively with others to solve complex problems

    • Comfortable leading through ambiguity to gain clarity and tactical plans while maintaining stakeholder engagement

    • Attention to detail, ability to prioritize, work independently and strong project management skills required

    • Ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
