Overall Purpose

This position owns end-end execution of risk-based compliance reviews of customers to assess adherence to operating rules, standards, and contractual requirements governing Early Warning's (EWS) products and services. The role identifies control gaps and risks, delivers actionable recommendations, and supports consistent compliance to protect the integrity and security of EWS products and services.

The Sr. Product Compliance Specialist operates with a high degree of independence, handles more complex and high-risk reviews, and provides guidance to less experienced team members.

Essential Functions

  • Execute risk-based compliance reviews of customers utilizing EWS products and services, including planning, fieldwork, and reporting.

  • Lead portions of complex or high-risk reviews, including planning, scoping, control evaluation, and testing approach.

  • Assess customer processes, controls, and documentation for adherence to operating rules, contractual requirements, and product standards.

  • Identify control gaps and compliance risks and perform root cause analysis.

  • Prepare and deliver clear, well-supported reports with practical remediation recommendations.

  • Present findings to internal stakeholders and support discussions with external customers, as needed.

  • Maintain complete and defensible documentation and workpapers to support review conclusions.

  • Validate remediation activities to ensure effective resolution of identified issues.

  • Identify trends and recurring issues across reviews and escalate insights to management.

  • Provide guidance on rule interpretation and compliance expectations to customers and internal partners.

  • Support onboarding and mentoring of junior team members to enhance review quality and consistency.

  • Contribute to the enhancement of review methodologies, tools, and templates.

  • Support the company's commitment to risk management and protecting the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Typically, a minimum of 5 years of experience in compliance reviews, audits, regulatory compliance, risk management, internal controls, or quality assurance within financial services or payments.

  • Demonstrated ability to independently execute end-to-end compliance reviews.

  • Experience handling moderately complex or higher-risk reviews.

  • Working knowledge of compliance frameworks, risk assessment methodologies, and control evaluation practices.

  • Ability to interpret and apply operating rules, contractual requirements, and product standards.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess risk and identify root causes.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including conducting interviews and drafting clear findings.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple assignments.

  • Education and/or experience typically obtained through completion of a Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, risk management, or related field.

  • Background and drug screen.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with debit network rules, NACHA rules, and real-time payments frameworks.

  • Experience supporting or mentoring junior team members.

  • Relevant professional certifications such as CIA, AAP, APRP, CPP, EPP, CISA, or CRCM are a plus.

Physical Requirements

Working conditions consist of a normal office environment. Work is primarily sedentary and requires extensive use of a computer and involves sitting for periods of approximately four hours. Work may require occasional standing, walking, kneeling, and reaching. Must be able to lift 10 pounds occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently. Requires visual acuity and dexterity to view, prepare, and manipulate documents and office equipment including personal computers.

The base pay scale for this position in:
Phoenix, AZ/ Chicago, IL / Washington, DC in USD per year is: $84,000 - $105,000.

Additionally, candidates are eligible for a discretionary incentive plan and benefits.
