Reporting to the Infusion Pharmacy Assistant Director, the Infusion Pharmacy Clinical Manager is responsible for the development, implementation and daily management of the pharmacy's clinical programs. The Clinical Manager is responsible for the human resource management and supervision of the Pharmacy Clinical team and Intake Pharmacists as assigned. The Clinical Manager, in conjunction with the Infusion Operations Manager, oversees and educaties pharmacists and support personnel regarding pharmacy clinical programs. They act as a resource to improve clinical efficiency, clinical quality and patient safety. The Clinical Manager also resolves the most complex patient clinical issues and provides clinical services as needed. The Clinical Manager will serve as a preceptor for pharmacy students, pharmacy residents and interns, and assists with the coordination of the experiential learning in the specialty pharmacy setting. The Clinical Manager also participates in the budgeting process and manages financial resources for the department.

Location: West Falls Church, VA, but training will take place in Baltimore, MD

Scope of Responsibilities

The AIS CPM will be responsible for the day-to-day clinical and compliance operations of the AIS pharmacy team, specifically:



  1. Provide direct oversight of approximately 8.0 FTEs by performance evaluations, coaching, and setting professional development goals. Breakdown of FTEs below:

    1. Onsite West Falls Church pharmacy staff:

      1. 1.0 Clinical Coordinator
      2. 1.0 Production Pharmacist
      3. 1.0 Technician Lead/Inventory Specialist
      4. 2.0 Production Technicians


    2. Remote clinical pharmacy AIS services provided to JHCH managed AIS locations (6 total):

      1. 2.0 Clinical Pharmacists
      2. 1.0 AIS Inventory Technician




  2. Partnering with the JHCH home infusion and JHHS Oncology teams to align clinical and operational workflows, patient management, and safety initiatives.
  3. Ensuring regulatory compliance for USP 797 and USP 800 standards for facilities, competency, cleaning, and ongoing certifications.
  4. Leading preparation for the Board of Pharmacy, The Joint Commission, and internal audits; overseeing quality metric tracking and reporting.
  5. Coordinating with JHHS FMMPC and JHCH Specialty Pharmacy teams to expand access to novel therapeutics (e.g., gene therapy) at WFC location.

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or graduation from an accredited College of Pharmacy resulting in a Doctor of Pharmacy degree
  • An advanced degree preferred (MBA, MPH, etc)
  • Completion of an ASHP-accredited residency program preferred but not required
  • State of Maryland pharmacist license required. VA license must be obtained withing six (6) months from start
  • Three years of Infusion pharmacy or hospital experience working with IV admixtures
  • Three years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred
  • Experience with experential education for pharmacy students, interns, and residents is preferred
  • Oncology experience preferred


Salary Range: Minimum $45.22/hour - Maximum $81.97/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
