| Essential Job Duties |
As a member of the Academic Success Center (
ASC) team, the Tutor Coordinator takes an active role in all major functions of the
ASC team, including teaching, training, planning, assessing, and promoting its programs.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
Program & Student Employment Coordination
- Coordinate and oversee the hiring, training, scheduling and supervision of both group and drop-in student tutors
- Hire and provide training/professional development for the peer supervisors hired in both the Drop-in and Group Tutoring programs
- Provide leadership and mentorship for student employees
- Partner with the Associate Director to collect program-specific data
- Report assessment outcomes to ASC team and other campus stakeholders
- Hire, train, and supervise ASC front desk student workers
Teaching & Tutor Recruitment
- Teach one-credit tutor-training course each semester
- Collaborate with other USC 210 instructors to ensure tutor training curriculum meets the needs of current students
- Co-develop and maintain course materials in tandem with other USC 210 instructors
- Coordinate ASC recruitment and hiring efforts, including working closely with other ASC staff to recruit and hire new tutors
- Develop and facilitate the Employment Information Session held each semester to recruit new tutors
Programming & Outreach
- Contribute to the formulation and implementation of ASC operations and long-term vision alongside other ASC staff
- Facilitate workshops, classroom visits, and other resources to promote services to campus partners and students
- Represent the unit to outside constituents as needed

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Require post-baccalaureate credentials or a bachelor's degree plus alternative or equivalent professional training and experience.
- Tutoring and/or teaching experience.
- Comfort with the use of technology for data collection, assessment, and presentations.

| Preferred Qualifications |
- Master's degree in relevant field.
- Extensive undergraduate coursework in the physical and mathematical sciences.
- Teaching and/or administrative experience at the college level.
- Experience with web design and/or programming.
- Experience in tutor training and/or methods of assessing academic support programs.
