Description

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Project Manager to join our Water Resources (flood control) team in Las Vegas, Nevada. Westwood has a highly experienced and dynamic team dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients.

A Project Manager will be expected to function collaboratively with our project management team on complex hydrologic analyses and hydraulic computations to support small and large-scale design projects. Duties include leading and guiding others to conduct hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, preparing reports and technical memorandums, and preparing civil construction plans for stormwater infrastructure. Project types include due diligence, master planning, residential and commercial land development, and public and private infrastructure.

Our ideal candidate possesses comprehensive technical experience and demonstrates sound design judgment. They are committed to expanding their knowledge in leadership, project management, financial management, and business development. Ideally, this candidate has experience performing design services for public agency clients in addition to private developer clients.

Requirements

  • Proactively communicate and engage with project managers and design teams.
  • Oversee technical aspects of various projects with diverse design teams.
  • Lead, oversee, and prepare hydrologic assessments to support drainage patterns and storm runoff and storm drain infrastructure recommendations for flood protection.
  • Direct the preparation of schematic exhibits.
  • Prepare detailed construction drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Prepare quantities, cost estimates, and technical specifications.
  • Perform field reviews and other assessments for use in design.
  • Manage the design and delivery of projects in a profitable manner.
  • Develop project work plans and budget projections, and effectively deploy resources.
  • Review, interpret, and act upon business metrics including utilization, backlog, work in process, and accounts receivable.
  • Prepare, maintain, and coordinate schedules of multiple concurrent projects.
  • Develop and track milestones to ensure on-time and on-budget deliveries.
  • Complete monthly project accounting and invoicing.
  • Implement and maintain QA/QC procedures.
  • Write proposals and participate in and/or lead interviews.
  • Build relationships internally and externally with clients and strategic partners.
  • Lead business development activities.
  • Negotiate contract terms and conditions.
  • Participate in contract bidding, provide limited observation during construction, review submittals, and RFIs.
  • Coordinate with governmental agencies, private developers, utility providers, and other external entities.

  • Advanced knowledge of various stormwater modeling software and drainage facility design.
  • General knowledge of construction with experience providing construction phase services
  • Proficient in the application of local/regional and national design standards.
  • Track record of successfully delivering projects
  • Experience in accounts receivable, invoicing, and overall duties involved in managing a design team
  • Experience preparing proposals, scopes of work, and qualification packages
  • Experience developing and implementing marketing pursuit strategies
  • Ability to develop relationships with peers, clients, and public agency staff

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • Licensed Professional Civil Engineer (PE) in Nevada (or capable of obtaining within 6 months)
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in general civil engineering and stormwater modeling/design
  • Local experience preparing drainage documents and construction plans for public works projects is preferred, but not required.
