As an Estimator/Project Manager, you'll play a critical role in helping bring
complex commercial mechanical projects to life by developing accurate
estimates, managing preconstruction activities, assessing risk, and delivering
value-driven solutions for our customers.

In this role, you'll
work closely with project managers, field leadership, customers, architects,
engineers, vendors, and subcontractors throughout the preconstruction process.
From conceptual budgeting and detailed estimating to proposal development and
project handoff, you'll help ensure projects are positioned for success before
work begins in the field.

At a Glance

Pay: $80,900-$121,400 annual salary; dependent
on relevant knowledge, skills, training, experience, and market conditions.

Employment Type: Full-Time/Exempt

Location: On-Site/Duluth, MN

Required Experience: 3+ years

What You'll Do

  • Prepare accurate and
    competitive cost estimates for commercial mechanical construction projects
    from conceptual budgeting through detailed takeoffs and final pricing.
  • Develop and submit project
    proposals that align with customer needs, project requirements, and
    company objectives.
  • Review plans, specifications,
    schedules, and project documentation to fully understand scope, risks, and
    opportunities.
  • Collaborate with project
    managers, field leadership, and operations teams to ensure estimates align
    with labor, production, and execution strategies.
  • Communicate directly with
    customers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to clarify
    project requirements and present value-driven solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong
    relationships with vendors and subcontractors to secure competitive
    pricing and reliable material availability.
  • Conduct risk assessments and
    analyze project data to support sound estimating decisions and identify
    opportunities for cost savings.
  • Lead the transition from
    estimating to project execution by ensuring a thorough and seamless
    handoff to project teams.
  • Support project teams during
    execution by providing estimating expertise, project insights, and
    preconstruction guidance as needed.
  • Continuously identify
    opportunities to improve efficiencies, enhance customer value, and support
    operational excellence.

What We're Looking For

  • Required
    Qualifications
    • Four-year degree in
      Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field;
      OR a two-year degree in
      Mechanical Technology, CAD Drafting, or a related field
      PLUS a minimum of two (2) years
      of project-related experience;
      OR a minimum of five (5) years of commercial
      construction experience.
    • Minimum of three (3) years
      of estimating experience with a strong understanding of commercial
      mechanical systems, equipment, construction drawings, specifications, and
      techniques.
    • Proficient in Microsoft
      Office Suite and estimating software relevant to commercial mechanical
      construction.
    • Demonstrated organizational
      and time management skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize
      and manage multiple projects simultaneously while consistently meeting
      deadlines.
    • Strong attention to detail
      and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven
      environment.
    • Must possess and maintain a
      valid state driver's license.
    • Commercial mechanical
      project management experience is preferred.
