The EHSS Program Director supports the development, implementation and continuous improvement of Environmental, Health, Safety & Security programs with a strong focus on aviation Safety Management Systems (SMS). This role translates safety requirements, operational risk and project needs into clear processes, documented procedures and practical mitigation plans to support safe, compliant and efficient operations.

Ideal candidates will have a strong aviation background and knowledge of aviation SMS processes.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support EHSS program planning, execution, and continuous improvement across aviation-related operations, projects, and business processes.
  • Analyze safety trends, audit findings, incident data, inspection results, and leading indicators to identify opportunities for risk reduction and process improvement.
  • Develop, review, and maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures, work instructions, risk registers, and program governance materials.
  • Facilitate cross-functional meetings, workshops, and working groups focused on process improvement, risk mitigation, and SMS alignment.
  • Prepare clear reports, dashboards, presentations, and briefing materials for leadership and operational stakeholders.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture by supporting communication, training, lessons learned, and employee engagement activities.

  • Report any hazards, near misses, incidents, accidents, or dangerous occurrences to their manager / supervisor, who will then follow the procedures contained in company and carrier Safety and Security procedures.
  • Carry out work in accordance with information and training provided and any specific health, wellbeing, safety, and security rules or procedures.
  • Fully understand AGI Health & Safety and Security policies.
  • Attend training courses as may be required by AGI.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to occasionally lift / carry / push / pull and move items 10 pounds.
  • Must be able to use close vision and sit for long periods of time.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Safety Leadership - Demonstrates sound judgement, accountability, and commitment to proactive risk management.
  • Good Communication Skills -Must be able to communicate information and effectively communicate instructions verbally and/or email and phone.
  • Analytical Thinking: Uses data, observations, and stakeholder input to identify trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities.
  • Collaboration: Builds productive relationships with operational teams, leaders, and subject matter experts.
  • Project Execution - Organizes complex work, manages deadlines and drives progress across multiple stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in airports, airline, aerospace, aviation services, maintenance, ground operations, or regulated transportation environments.
  • Familiarity with FAA, IATA, OSHA, environmental, security, or emergency management requirements relevant to aviation operations.
  • Certification or training in SMS, project management, safety management, auditing, risk management, or continuous improvement preferred.
  • Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.If work location is in Canada, must have authorization to work in Canada as defined by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) of 2001.
