Cape Fox Concentric Methods is accepting resumes for a Medical Laboratory Technician to support the Air Force Facility at Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The total hourly pay for this non-exempt position is $36.05 for up to 40 hours a week. This is comprised of a base hourly rate of $30.96plus $5.09per hour Health & Welfare (H&W) for up to 40 hours per week as required by the Service Contract Labor Standards (SCLS) regulations.The above rate represents the company's good faith and reasonable estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting. In addition, we offer a variety of benefits including specified holidays, paid leave, health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life and disability insurance, tuition reimbursement, as well as 401K with company match. Unused vacation will be paid upon termination. This job will be posted until filled or withdrawn.

Responsibilities



  • Perform a full range of clinical laboratory tests in any one or a combination of the following sections of the laboratory: hematology, chemistry, cytology, histotechnology, urinalysis, serology, microbiology bacteriology, and immunohematology.
  • Collect specimens and analyze the best method for drawing blood samples from patients, ranging in age from infant to geriatric with varying health statuses. The standard is 10 patients per hour.
  • Determine the suitability of specimens for analysis. Prepare specimens for analysis and ensure that the physiologic state of the properties is maintained.
  • Prepare reagents and primary reference materials as necessary.
  • Calibrate, standardize, adjust, and maintain instruments.
  • Verify correct instrument operation using established procedures and quality control checks. Identify the cause of common problems and make simple repairs.
  • Recognize and react to indicators of malfunction. Locate and implement corrections.
  • Obtain analytical data, convert to a prescribed unit of reporting, as necessary, and correlate data to verify results.
  • Traindesignated staff on all facets of laboratory operations as required.
  • Conduct quality control procedures on equipment, reagents and products and maintain proper records for quality control and quality assurance reports.
  • Check-in, document, order, and maintain appropriate electronic medical information that support the hard copy medical record by utilizing the approved Laboratory Information System.
  • Elevate concerns to lab management.
  • Adhere to all local, state, national and federal safety and accreditation procedures.


Schedule Sunday - Saturday with 8-10 hour shifts between the hours of 0001 and 2400. Shifts are normally scheduled for a 9-hour period, to include an uncompensated 60-minute lunch break. Normal shifts are Monday to Friday, The Medical Laboratory Technician may be asked to provide patient care on weekends. In no instance will they be required to provide services exceeding 40 scheduled hours per week
