JOB POSITION TITLE: Assembly Operator



ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Continually look for ways to increase efficiency and productivity, while maintaining the required level of quality.


  • Familiarization and understanding of the applicable regulations, inspection methods, techniques, practices, aids, equipment, and tools used to determine the airworthiness of a component on which maintenance, preventive maintenance or alterations is performed.


  • Ensure that the processing and inspection of components are within the applicable regulatory authority.


  • Comply with all applicable regulatory, customer, and internal requirements.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/TASKS:




  • Interpret drawings and applicable technical data to perform required repairs.


  • Visual/Dimensionally check assemblies and sub-assemblies using various methods and tooling.


  • Plan, prioritize and perform work in an efficient manner to meet schedules.


  • Use flushing, pressure check, and borescope equipment as required to complete tasks.


  • Check, assemble, and disassemble engine modules and components.


  • Remove defective components and visually check components according to repair criteria.


  • Troubleshoot, test, and check components.


  • Produce components that comply with airworthiness standards in an efficient manner.


  • Perform structural sheet metal repairs.


  • Install assemblies and sub-assemblies into modules while maintaining tolerance and rigid specifications.


  • Measure and examine completed units to ensure conformance to specifications.


  • Produce parts to airworthiness standards in an efficient manner.


  • Comply with work instructions laid out by job documentation, engineering, and regulatory requirements.


  • May be required to perform other duties and work flexible schedules, including shift work, as company workload dictates.



SKILLS REQUIRED:




  • Ability to read, speak, write, understand, and verbally express ideas and instructions in English.


  • Ability to effectively communicate with peers, subordinates, supervisors, management personnel, suppliers, and customers.


  • Read, interpret, and understand technical and quality procedures.


  • Ability to apply shop mathematics.


  • Working knowledge of applicable technical publications.


  • Understanding of aviation terms and working knowledge of applicable technical publications.


  • Ability to work with adequate supervision and to apply skill and knowledge to work assignments.


  • Ability to use, read and interpret various types of Precision Measurement Equipment.


  • Ability to operate industrial trucks or electric hoist.

This position may require work hours outside of the regularly scheduled hours to meet operational needs. This may include work during evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. Additional work hours are assigned based on business requirements. Non-exempt employees will be paid overtime in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.


The salary range for this position reflects a broad spectrum of experience levels. Individual compensation within the range is determined by multiple factors, including relevant experience, education, certifications, job related skills, internal equity, and market conditions. We evaluate each candidate individually to ensure fair and competitive pay decisions.
