Overview
DecisionPoint seeks a Government Security Operations Center Communications Systems Operator Liaison to support the U.S. Air Force Executive Airlift Communications Network program. The liaison will provide subject-matter expertise on airborne Mission Communications Systems and assist with monitoring and resolving communications issues affecting executive aircraft. The CSO Liaison will coordinate with GSOC personnel, airborne operators, and technical teams to support mission communications, troubleshoot outages and anomalies, and improve operational awareness. This position requires on-site performance at Joint Base Andrews, Maryland, and supports 24/7/365 mission-essential operations. Duties & Responsibilities
The GSOC CSO Liaison will:
- Respond to incident calls involving airborne Mission Communications Systems.
- Provide expert guidance on MCS operations aboard C-32A, C-40B/C, and C-37A/B aircraft.
- Assist onboard Communications Systems Operators with troubleshooting anomalies and outages.
- Use Command and Control tools and secure collaboration platforms to support active missions.
- Coordinate with GSOC personnel, airborne crews, network engineers, and external service providers.
- Monitor communications status and help identify recurring issues and operational trends.
- Review flight-monitoring solutions provided by commercial satellite communications providers.
- Recommend improvements to monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident-response processes.
- Document incident details, troubleshooting actions, status updates, and resolutions.
- Support after-action reviews and trend analysis following mission-impacting events.
- Maintain awareness of aircraft communications configurations, capabilities, and operating procedures.
- Respond to urgent situations within established performance timelines.
- Maintain continuous mission support during assigned shifts, including weekends and federal holidays.
Qualifications
Clearance Requirement: Must hold an active Top Secret clearance. Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Telecommunications, Aviation Systems, Engineering, or a related field. Experience:
- Minimum five years of experience supporting airborne communications, mission systems, or command-and-control operations.
- Subject-matter expertise with the Mission Communications Systems of C-32A, C-40B/C, and/or C-37A/B aircraft.
- Experience troubleshooting airborne voice, video, data, or satellite communications issues.
- Experience supporting executive airlift, military aviation, or mission-critical operations.
- Experience working in a GSOC, network operations center, or comparable operational environment preferred.
Technical Knowledge:
- Knowledge of airborne Mission Communications Systems and executive aircraft communications operations.
- Familiarity with commercial satellite communications, air-to-ground connectivity, and secure communications.
- Understanding of incident response, fault isolation, escalation, and operational reporting.
- Familiarity with Command and Control tools, secure chat platforms, and flight-monitoring systems.
- Ability to interpret technical status information and communicate troubleshooting guidance to airborne operators.
Certifications:
- Relevant aviation communications, network, cybersecurity, or systems certifications preferred.
- Appropriate DoDM 8140.03 certification may be required based on assigned system access.
Skills:
- Strong troubleshooting and operational decision-making abilities.
- Excellent verbal communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to remain effective during high-visibility, time-sensitive incidents.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
- Ability to work rotating shifts in a 24/7/365 environment.
- Ability to perform duties on-site at Joint Base Andrews, Maryland.
Compensation: Anticipated salary range is $98,177.00-$108,877.00 per year
