KPMG is currently seeking a SALT Direct Tax Senior Manager, Shared Services to join our Delivery Center.

Responsibilities:
  • Work in our compliance center of excellence to support engagement teams to execute state and local income/franchise tax compliance for large multi-state and multi-national companies
  • Review information provided by clients and present it accurately and consistently on state income and franchise tax returns, extensions, and estimated payments
  • Manage multiple projects to completion in accordance with statutory deadlines with strong project management oversight
  • Drive standard process and technology adoption using KPMG tools, third-party tools, and GenAI solutions Build and manage relationships with local engagement teams, multidisciplinary teams across TSS, and occasionally with clients
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop staff both onshore and offshore
  • Monitor risk and financial performance of engagements including hours incurred and project budgets
  • Collaborate with engagement teams to identify new opportunities to increase TSS leverage and improve efficiency
Qualifications:
  • Minimum eight years of recent experience with state income tax compliance for corporations and/or pass-through entities, deep understanding of multi-state tax issues
  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or a related field of study from an accredited college/university; licensed CPA, JD/LLM, EA or MTX, in addition to others on KPMG's approved credential listing; any individual who does not possess at least one of the approved designations/credentials when their employment commences, has one year from their date of hire to obtain at least one of the approved designations/credentials; should you like to see the complete list of currently approved designations/credentials for the hiring practice/service line, your recruiter can provide you with that list
  • Experience providing services to public companies and a solid knowledge of relevant state tax concepts
  • Ability to foster relationships both internally as well as with clients and desire to perform in a high-energy team environment
  • Experience mentoring and counseling staff level team members
  • Excellent people management, communication, project management, technology, and tax compliance skills
