Job Title: Project Manager 3 Scrum Master

Location(s): Mechanicsville, VA
(Hybrid - Onsite up to 3 days/week)

Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced Project Manager/Scrum Master to lead Agile software development initiatives. The ideal candidate will manage project delivery throughout the full project lifecycle while facilitating Agile ceremonies, removing impediments, tracking project performance, and ensuring adherence to Agile best practices. This role requires strong leadership, stakeholder management, and project governance experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive project delivery throughout the complete project lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain project plans, release plans, schedules, and resource allocations.
• Manage project scope, risks, timelines, budgets, and delivery milestones.
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies including:
  • Sprint Planning
  • Daily Standups
  • Sprint Reviews/Demos
  • Retrospectives
  • Backlog Refinement
  • Release Planning
• Remove team impediments and foster a productive Agile environment.
• Shield development teams from unnecessary interruptions and external distractions.
• Build strong relationships between Product Owners, development teams, stakeholders, and leadership.
• Track team velocity and Agile performance metrics.
• Monitor and communicate project status, risks, issues, and costs.
• Support Product Owners with backlog creation, prioritization, and management.
• Promote continuous process improvement and Agile maturity.
• Ensure compliance with established project management standards, governance, and organizational methodologies.
• Perform additional project management responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Expert knowledge of Agile project management principles and practices.
• Hands-on experience serving as a Scrum Master on Agile software development projects.
• Experience facilitating Scrum and Kanban methodologies.
• Strong stakeholder management and customer communication skills.
• Experience managing project scope, schedule, quality, cost, and risks.
• Ability to analyze and document business and system processes.
• Excellent leadership, coaching, mentoring, and team-building skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making abilities.
• Experience helping Product Owners manage and prioritize product backlogs.

Required Certifications:

• PMP (Project Management Professional)
• Certified ScrumMaster (CSM)

Preferred Qualifications:

• SAFe Certification.
• Experience working within the SAFe Agile Framework.
