Description and Requirements

Lenovo Infrastructure Solution Group (ISG) Cloud Service Provider (CSP) team is seeking a Senior Technical Project Manager (TPM) to lead server product development for Tier-1 hyperscale customers. In this role, you will manage cross-functional development teams to deliver best-in-class server systems-spanning customer scope management, requirement clarification, design implementation, and validation. Additionally, you will collaborate with key functional teams (including Architecture, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Service) to ensure validated products transition smoothly into mass production and are successfully delivered to customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Program Ownership: Own and manage product development programs for Tier-1 customers. Drive comprehensive project planning (schedule and budget), proactively mitigate risks, manage stakeholder expectations, and ensure the project team achieves on-time delivery for all milestones.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead multidisciplinary engineering and operational teams (including EE, ME, Thermal, BIOS, BMC, Validation, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain) to rapidly resolve customer-reported design, quality, compatibility, firmware, and hardware issues.
  • Engineering Change Management: Oversee project change requests, including Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), Bill of Materials (BOM) updates, firmware/hardware revisions, and regression validation plans.
  • Global Collaboration: Partner with global teams across the US, Taiwan, and international manufacturing sites to align priorities and ensure seamless execution.
  • KPI & Risk Reporting: Track, analyze, and report key program metrics (KPIs), risks, and mitigation strategies to both internal executives and external customers.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Work closely with customer program managers, system leads, and engineering teams to provide timely status updates and maintain strict alignment on priorities and deliverables.
  • Sustaining & Quality Support: Coordinate and monitor Field Replaceable Unit (FRU) returns, Failure Analysis (FA), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Capture and share lessons learned and best practices to elevate team capabilities and optimize future project execution.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 10+ years of experience in program or project management within a server or computer hardware design team, with prior ODM experience highly preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of server architecture (including CPU, memory, storage, thermal, BMC, and BIOS) and a comprehensive understanding of the end-to-end product lifecycle-from requirement solicitation through mass production and sustaining engineering.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proven ability to manage complex, global cross-functional teams and drive high-pressure issue resolution under demanding customer timelines.
  • Self-motivated leader with exceptional problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and a proactive mindset.
  • Strong experience in collaborating across diverse global teams.
  • Prior experience supporting Tier-1 hyperscale customers is highly preferred.
  • PMP or an equivalent project management certification is a distinct advantage.
