Employment Type: Contract to direct
Compensation: $19.50/hour
Schedule: 1st Shift: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

As a Mechanical Assembler, you will be responsible for assembling, wiring, and building Medium and Low Voltage Electrical Distribution Equipment, including motor control centers, breakers, switchgear, electrical vehicle charging systems, and solar inverter products.
This role offers the opportunity to work in a team-focused manufacturing environment where safety, quality, and continuous improvement are top priorities.
What You'll Do:
  • Assemble and wire motor control center breakers, structures, sub-assemblies, parts kits, and aftermarket components.
  • Perform mechanical assembly of steel structures, components, and electrical equipment.
  • Complete control wiring, power cable installation, and interconnection of control wires.
  • Read and interpret Bills of Materials (BOMs), assembly drawings, and layouts.
  • Perform basic wiring tasks following established instructions.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and torque wrenches to complete assemblies.
  • Verify proper torque settings and ensure components are assembled accurately.
  • Record production information and complete required job documentation.
  • Follow established manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.

Job Requirements
What You'll Bring:
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience performing mechanical assembly or working in a mechanical manufacturing environment.
  • Experience using standard hand tools and power tools, including pneumatic and battery-operated tools.
  • Ability to read and follow assembly drawings, layouts, and work instructions.
  • Ability to identify mechanical parts and electrical components.
  • Experience using torque wrenches and understanding torque requirements.
  • Experience using measuring tools such as tape measures and other basic measurement equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (read, write, and speak).
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and productivity.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
What Sets You Apart:
  • Experience with electrical assembly, control wiring, or power cable installation.
  • Experience working with electrical distribution equipment.
  • Forklift experience.
  • SAP or manufacturing system experience.
  • Experience working in a lean manufacturing or continuous improvement environment.
Additional Information:
  • Must be able to occasionally lift parts or sub-assemblies weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • This is an onsite position located in Wendell, NC.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
  • Upon offer acceptance, candidates will be required to provide shirt and pant sizing for required uniforms and a headshot photo for facility access credentials.
  • Interview attire requirements:
    • Long pants extending to the ankle (no shorts or pants ending below the knee).
    • Shirt must cover the waistline and have no additional cut-outs around the arms or shoulders.
    • Safety shoes are preferred if available.
  • Background screening may be required prior to employment.
