Daikin Applied is seeking a full-timeHVAC Service Technician II - Mission Critical. Location:Washington DC / Bowie, MD

Mission Critical Responsibilities

Your Responsibilities:

  • Participate in data center construction projects from equipment delivery inspections, pre-functional testing, equipment startup, and commissioning
  • Assist project leaders with data collection, project status updates, and repair and progress recommendations through consistent communication with stake holders
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and trades on construction projects to integrate HVAC equipment with building controls, balance building air and water systems, and verify proper HVAC sequencing.
  • Participate in Integrated Systems Testing to validate data center SOOs and equipment functionality.
  • Assist project leads and stake holders in completing milestones to maintain projected timelines
  • Perform owner training on HVAC equipment operations and maintenance best practices
  • Make recommendations to all stakeholders on methods to increase equipment reliability
  • Perform maintenance of commercial HVAC equipment including logging machines, cleaning coils, brushing tubes, replacing filters, replacing belts and proper lubrication
  • Repair and replacement of defective equipment, components, or wiring related to fan coils, water source heat pumps, applied air handling units, rooftop units, cooling towers, and condenser tubes
  • Maintain and inspect equipment to identify potential problems to prevent premature and unexpected breakdowns or callbacks
  • Perform warranty service application by inspecting and testing systems to verify functionality of HVAC equipment and components
  • Direct Level I technicians through hands-on demonstrations of all necessary steps to troubleshoot and repair equipment
  • Record and report billing, inventory, timecards, technician tip reports, and other articles as required and in a timely manner
  • Interact with customers by offering status reports of service before, during, and after each call Explain technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Participate in available training through regional technician trainers, off-site learning modules, and Daikin Learning. Maintain all required certifications and continue to develop new skill sets
  • Ensure standards, policies, procedures, and maintenance of a clean work area are always upheld
  • Follow all OSHA and Daikin Applied safety policies and procedures

Your Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Propensity towards over communication and a high level of attention to detail (preferred)
  • Associates Degree or technical school HVAC certification (preferred)
  • 3+ years of experience in HVAC or related industry
  • Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record
  • Required license(s) and/or training card as required by local law district
  • EPA approved Universal Technician Certification
  • OSHA 10 certification
  • OSHA 30 certification (preferred)
  • Current first aid / CPR card (preferred)
  • NFPA 70E certification (preferred)

The typical hourly pay rate for this position ranges from $33.10 - $53.05 in DC/MD. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
