The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience. Job Overview: Transports patients in a safe and efficient manner throughout the hospital under the direction of supervisory personnel, Utilizes the automated transport system to perform duties, Performs routine cleaning of equipment used to transport patients, Adheres to universal infection control practices, Practices excellent customer service skills with all patients, visitors and employees, Transport the deceased to the morgue, Qualifications: Previous patient transport experience preferred and must have excellent customer service skills, Required: Every other Weekend Every other holiday Scheduling Requirements Shift 3:00pm-11:30pm Evening 40 Hours a Week Essential Functions: Maintains a level of attendance and punctuality to meet the demands of the job, Reports to work in uniform, ID badge, pager, etc, in accordance with departmental policy, Maintains the minimum department standard of 2, 6 transport per hour Transporting Patients Advises the nurse, nurse manager or technician when they arrive on floor Introduce yourself to the patient, The transporter always checks the patient's ID band for the two identifiers before transporting the patient (Name and Date of Birth), Assists the nurse or technician in transferring the patient from the bed to the transport equipment or vice versa Use caution when rounding corners, Ensures brakes are used when transferring from stretcher and/or wheelchair Maintains confidentiality of patient information Maintains safety of patients Identifies appropriate situations to seek assistance from nursing staff and/or security.
