Student Teaching Supervisor

Position Purpose

The Department of Teaching and Learning within the College of Education at the University of Iowa is seeking a supervisor for secondary school English language arts student teachers for the fall semester 2026.

Job Responsibilities

The supervisor will be responsible for the following tasks:

• Assist in placing students in secondary schools.
• Communicate over email with students, cooperating teachers, and program coordinator weekly.
• Communicate as needed with the Office of Student Services.
• Preplan and do observations for each student.
• Provide feedback for videotaping analysis.
• Complete student evaluation sheets for final evaluation.

Education Requirement

Master's Degree in an education-related field.

Qualifications

Supervisor must have held a teaching license in the United States.

Required Experience

Supervisor must have successfully completed a minimum of three years of teaching at the Middle School, Junior High School, or High School level in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

Post-secondary teaching experience.
