THE OPPORTUNITY

Iron Bow is seeking an IT Support Technician to support the Virginia Information Technologies Agency (VITA) contract by delivering onsite and remote technical support to end users across the Commonwealth of Virginia. In this role, you'll troubleshoot hardware and software issues, deploy and maintain IT equipment, manage assets, and provide exceptional customer service to ensure users remain productive and connected.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT




  • Provide onsite and remote IT support for end users across the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve Windows operating system, software, hardware, and peripheral issues.
  • Perform system imaging, deployment, and configuration of desktops, laptops, and related equipment.
  • Complete break/fix hardware repairs, including OEM-certified warranty repairs.
  • Support Active Directory administration, including password resets and basic user account management.
  • Manage support requests through the ticketing system while maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Track, manage, and maintain IT assets throughout their lifecycle, including asset disposal activities.
  • Provide remote support using remote administration tools and deliver deskside support as needed.
  • Coordinate support for remote users by shipping replacement devices and leveraging third-party repair services when necessary.
  • Perform basic network troubleshooting to resolve connectivity issues.
  • Participate in after-hours and weekend support when required.



SKILLS THAT DRIVE SUCCESS



  • High school diploma or equivalent with 1+ years of IT support, help desk, or field service experience.
  • Experience imaging and deploying Windows workstations and laptops.
  • Experience using Active Directory for password resets and basic account administration.
  • Working knowledge of Windows operating systems and desktop application support.
  • Experience performing hardware diagnostics and replacing components such as RAM, SSD/HDDs, and batteries.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts and troubleshooting.
  • Strong troubleshooting and critical-thinking skills with the ability to solve problems independently.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills with a user-first mindset.
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to travel locally throughout Virginia.
  • Ability to successfully pass Virginia State Police and Department of Corrections background investigations.


WHAT SETSYOU APART



  • Experience supporting enterprise or government IT environments.
  • OEM hardware repair certifications or manufacturer warranty repair experience.
  • Familiarity with IT asset management and inventory tracking.
  • Experience supporting remote users in a hybrid environment.
  • A proactive approach to identifying issues and improving the end-user experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.

Travel varies / approximately 50% local travel

COMPENSATION AND BENEFIT INFORMATION

The salary range for this position is $23.50-27/hr. This range reflects the anticipated base pay for the position and is not a guarantee of final compensation. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, skills, education, location, contract requirements, and business needs.

Iron Bow Technologies reserves the right to fill this role at a different level, depending on qualifications and organizational priorities. This range represents only one component of Iron Bow's total compensation package. An overview of our benefits is available on our careers page.
