This role is based in our Fort Lauderdale office.

  • EditorialownershipofBOAT International US:You will curate, shape and edit the contents of the monthlymagazine. You willact as gatekeeper andchampion of the US publication,using your expertise to ensureit serves its readership.You'll adaptcontent fromBOAT Internationalto better suitthe American market, as well ascommission or writeUS-specific content where necessary.You'll alsowork with designersand subsfrom issue start to finish,ensuringfeatures andlayoutsmeet the highest standards.

  • Feature planning:You will stay on top of superyacht news and trends, support the Superyachts Editor and widereditorialteam with identifying and securing features on the most exclusive new superyachts and interesting owners. You will feed relationships,ideas,tips and intel through to the editorial team, making connections and facilitating features, and writingif you have capacity.

  • Management ofBOAT International US:You willliaise withtheLondon HQ regularly,as well asaddress and solve any issues related to the good functioning of the US publication.You willalsomanage the US Editorial budget.

  • Relationship buildingand representation:You will represent BOAT US at boat shows, trade shows and BOAT events; cultivatingand strengtheningrelationships with key editorial and commercial stakeholders, both in the US and internationally.Engage with existing contacts while identifying and building connections with new partners to support thecompany'sgrowth and influence.Develop strategic plans to enhance collaboration and expand the publication's network within the luxury and superyacht industries.

  • Eventintegration:You will collaboratewith the editorial team on content planning and deliveryofmarquee events such as the Superyacht Design Festival, Explorer Yachts Summit and Ocean Talks.

Qualifications
  • Exceptionaljournalisticskills:Outstandinglongformwriting,excellentediting an eye for a story, and plenty ofcarefully-honedfeature ideas.

  • Provenexperience:A demonstrated expertise in feature writing, editing andthe management of copy in an editorial environment.

  • Motivation:An enthusiastic self-starter who will put up their hand,develop ideas,own tasks and act independently.

  • Organisation and detail focus:Excellent organisational abilities, high standards,a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.

  • Creative andcommercialbalance:Ability to align editorial content with brand objectives.

  • Industryknowledge:An understanding ofluxury lifestyle isimportant,as isenthusiasm for learning about the superyacht industry.

  • Multiplatformexpertise:Comfort working across various formats, including print, digital, and videois a plus (although you will be primarily working on print).

  • Public facing:Confident representing the company in the US and at internationalevents.

  • Collaborativemindset:An inclusive,team-oriented approachis essential.

Summary of Benefits

Current benefits for US team: (NOTE: this may change for all US employees and be rolled into INFORMA policy in the future, depending on Informa Integration strategy with BOAT)

Vacation Entitlement

  • 25 days paid vacation per year plus public holidays.
  • Vacation to be taken at mutually agreeable times and when it does not adversely affect the business.
  • Vacation does not accrue and cannot be exchanged for payment.
  • Vacation for the current year pro-rated based on start date.
  • The Company also offers up to an additional 3 days' paid time off during the Christmas office closure period. This applies to all staff employed during the closure period regardless of their start date or if notice has been given. These days do not form part of the annual leave entitlement.
  • Medical Insurance
  • Medical insurance coverage with monthly premiums paid by the company up to $966 per individual or higher with dependents and/or spouse.
  • Eligibility to join a 401K Plan
  • Company does sponsor a 401K plan to which individual welcome to participate. Company does not offer 401k matching
