Description
The Senior Product & Application Developer plays a key role in developing new products and expanding the application scope of existing technologies within targeted industry segments. This position combines hands-on laboratory work with direct customer engagement to translate market needs into technical solutions. The role includes leading development projects, designing and executing application testing, and working closely with cross-functional teams to support product growth and Commercialization. The Senior Product & Application Developer contributes technical insight, application expertise, and project leadership to drive innovation, generate customer value, and strengthen Aurorium's position in strategic markets.

Job Details

Role Specific Responsibilities:
  • Lead development of new and modified small molecules and polymers,including hands-on laboratory work to advance development goals.
  • Lead development of technical value propositions for the growth of existingproducts into new applications, including establishing end-application claimsupport via targeted internal/external test methods and benchmarking.
  • Explore, identify, and understand customer needs, and assist customers inapplying and qualifying the Aurorium product in their applications.
  • Translate customer requirements into technical work plans and develop productsas needed for achieving growth. Work directly with customers to advanceevaluations, trials, and commercialization activities.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends and communicate opportunities to the team.
  • Convert technical information into appropriate language and level for externaland internal technical and commercial audiences - present material asrequired.
  • Serve as a project manager and participate as a team member on market-driven growth programs and customer-specific projects.
  • Become an active member of the global technology group and provideexpertise, consultation, and recommendations as assigned.
  • Assist with developing intellectual property, including assessing technicallandscape and commercial viability, maintaining technical records, writinginvention disclosures, and coordinating filings with patent counsel.
  • Work directly with sales and marketing teams to develop solutions that providecustomer value.
  • Additional duties as needed and assigned.

Qualifications/Desired Skills

Education and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years hands-on laboratory experience developing new productsand/or applications involving at least one of the focus industry segments.
  • Demonstrated experience working with polymers including characterization,structure-property relationships and synthesis/modification.
  • Experience working directly with external customers to solve customer problemsand identify growth opportunities.
  • Previous technical contacts within the industrial and professional societycommunities to foster learning and to accelerate potential new businessopportunities.

Experience:
  • M.S. or Ph.D. in chemical engineering, colloid and surface science, polymerscience, chemistry, material science or equivalent

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Demonstrated strong communication, creativity, and innovation along withproject/program management and organizational skills.
  • Capable of providing efficient customer service and technical support for salesand business development activities.
  • Proficient in designing experiments, analyzing data, and drawing conclusionsbased on results.
  • Demonstrates a drive to continually learn and work to broaden knowledgebased on the entire organization.
  • Capable of working in a cross-functional organization with demonstration ofpositive collaboration, team building skills, and project leadership skills.
  • Familiar with safe laboratory practices and chemical hygiene plans.
  • Ability to travel up to 15%
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint,Outlook, etc.
