ATC is looking for a self-motivated Electrical Technician who would like to build their career in the area of the development of high technology electronics systems for the space and communications industries.

As the Electronics Technician, you will work with a small, highly effective team of engineers, technicians and other professionals to deliver solutions (electrical, communication and other) for a diverse customer set using commercial and sometimes custom application components. The Electronics Technician will be responsible for assembly and testing of the systems and components with opportunity to contribute towards the engineering of the design from concept through fielded application.
The types of projects include, but are not limited to custom mobile communications systems and components, satellite ground terminals.
Responsibilities:
  • Assemble and connect system components (e.g. cables)
  • Configure electronic and RF systems and devices
  • Quality assurance testing
  • Build prototype models based on schematics, diagrams and technical guidelines
  • Monitor and report on project progress
  • Test system functionality and analyze data
  • Repair malfunctions in circuitry and other system structures
  • Collaborate with engineers and other professionals on technical tasks
  • Some travel, both CONUS and OCONUS, is to be expected

Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience as an Electronics Technician or similar role
  • Experience performing fine pitch and small gauge soldering, build and rework PC Boards, assembly of military style and "D", as well as other types and styles of cables and connectors
  • Experience with various test equipment to include network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, power meters, etc.
  • Experience with installation, operation and upgrades of RF system components including wireless internet access points, cellular telephone antennas, two-way radios, and other RF equipment.
  • Experience with soldering and crimping
  • Use of 3D printers, laser engravers, and other technologies is extremely helpful
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), MS Visio, MS Project and Windows Operating System
  • Able to prioritize work and meet deadlines
  • Other attributes
    • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
    • Must be able to work in tight spaces
  • Candidate must be a U.S. citizen
  • Candidate must have a minimum of and maintain a Secret Security Clearance, TS/SCI Clearance eligibility preferred.
