Overview
The Rutgers Division of Intercollegiate Athletics sponsors 24 intercollegiate sports, comprised of 14 women's and 10 men's programs, that compete at the Division I level. The Scarlet Knights are members of the prestigious Big Ten Conference, the nation's premier academic and athletic conference, after officially joining the league on July 1, 2014. Known as "The Birthplace of College Football, Rutgers hosted Princeton on Nov. 6, 1869 in the first intercollegiate football game, with RU earning a 6-4 victory.

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Coordinator of Sports Operations - Softball for Athletics - Facilities & Operations.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:

  • Leads and coordinates the administrative, operational, and logistical functions of Rutgers Softball.
  • Manages team travel, business operations, recruiting logistics, camp administration, facility coordination, and student-athlete support initiatives while serving as a liaison between the softball program and athletics department units.
  • Working closely with the Head Coach and ensures efficient program operations, compliance with institutional and NCAA policies, and the delivery of a first-class student-athlete experience that supports the program's competitive and organizational objectives.

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Demonstrated organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally and effectively with student-athletes, prospective student-athletes and their families, coaches, administrators, alumni, donors, and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with computer applications and technology, including Microsoft Office Suite and other software systems utilized in collegiate athletics.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required in support of team activities, recruiting, competitions, camps, and special events.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of NCAA, Big Ten Conference, and institutional rules and regulations related to softball operations and recruiting.
  • Previous experience working in collegiate athletics, preferably within a Division I environment.
  • Experience coordinating recruiting activities, team travel, camps and clinics, and other program operations.
  • Familiarity with NCAA compliance, recruiting, and athletics business systems.

Equipment Utilized
  • Proficiency in computer applications and software systems, including e-mail, recruiting databases, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Special Conditions
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours, including long days and frequent travel during the spring competitive season and other peak operational periods.
